Look to all of ya, It's pretty fucking easy to know that it's my account by my photos for starters! And no i'm not a 21 year old female from cail lol. I'll give ya credit though not far off i guess lol. So i can't even delete this account? Well that sucks doesn't it?! And for all of you wondering what i'm worrying about this shit is more complicated then i care to explain, just wanted a little help that's all! Someone knows who i am on here and i want to change that, and that is as simple as it is, do you really all need the long complicated story i think not, besides im hardly gonna flame someone on an account they know about! For all i know they could be reading this.

Just a question,what happens when users decide a 2nd time they've made the wrong name choice,then a 3rd & 4th time,people naturally panic over very little things in this hobby,the forums would need an entire staff devoted to switching usernames if they allowed it.
Your question is not uncommon here.
i stated way back in the beginning, "accounts cannot be deleted". i understand your position. if there is a "valid security compromise" then you can pm rollitup and he may help you. if it's legit. we get people all day long wanting to change names and accounts. if we let one person do it everyone will. what would happen if all the sudden i was "misterpickle"? i think it would confuse people.
all account deletions or name changes must go thru rollitup, the actual person.

do we remove your avatar and change your name to "deleted"? how would that look? "deleted" mixed into all the threads. you may have posted some useful stuff. no?

I definitely agree with FDD. Having the "deleted" part in all sorts of threads would be very annoying for what?, 100,000 different people who use the site. Although I do understand how you feel about the security issues. The only thing is.. you would almost have to act like an ENTIRELY different person if you did get a new account. You'd need to move too, because if they knew this was your account, they could trace it to where you're at. I would say you'd need to move, get a new computer, new IP, and take on a new personality. Use a different set up, just in case that person continues searching for you, and finds your EXACT set up, in a different location/room, with someone who talks like you posting as the grower. I'm not trying to be rude or anything. I'm just trying to give my 2 cents I guess. I hope things get sorted out for you! PEACE

True but I would think a user should be able to decide they no longer want to be a part of the community they should be able to delete there own account. Suppose I run for senator... I could of been the one that decrims weed in my state. Suppose someone comes into a seat of power, and don't want this to hurt there reputation. (You know how journalists can be.)

I understand why they don't let you delete an account. All the posts that you did that would be deleted would throw this forum into a wacked state. It would throw everything off and would screw up all the threads you posted on....so I can see why they don't let you delete an account. What I don't understand is the username changing. This should be a simple fix, and it would not confuse anything. If someone wanted to know who you are all they would have to do is use the search function and look at your latest posts, simple enough.
why you gonna sign up to a site that your scared your goin to get caught, and second guess yourself ..
