"............ BART's general manager, Dorothy Dugger, held a news conference late Friday afternoon, responding to a plea by the Bay Area Council to police and sheriffs in the nine biggest cities in the Bay Area. This came in the wake of Wednesday's violent demonstrations. ............................

.............................. "Dugger also addressed other issues at the news conference. She said she wants the BART investigation to be over in a week and that BART investigators have already interviewed all of the officers who were on the platform and the witnesses, in addition to seeing the video evidence. She also called for a meeting on Monday to arrange the formation of the oversight committee. ..............."

That is ridiculous fdd if I ran out and shot a guy right now i would be in jail. What makes this cop any better than me? Seven days what a crock of shit. Poor kid was a father and he gets killed by the people who are supposed to protect not harass. What's next a new agency I propose: "US Department of Gestapo" Alah Akbah! Terrorist . . . what a load of crap I thought we already did McCarthyism . . .

If you and your buddies executed somebody and then conspired to cover it up you would be in jail with no bond.
Justice is blind. yeah and damn unobtainable.

And... if that person you killed was a cop, you'd be on death row in a matter of hours. What makes his life more important than mine?

Say what you will, I believe this was an accident... but we'll let the people decide when his trial comes, we are no one to be judging, yet.

The Institution of Power protects that which keeps in in power. Sick society we live in and tolerate as americans. Every american is being robbed blind by the elite using the government's help police harass, we hire private armies, spend $168 billion annually on "terrorism", allow the president to declare martial law in any state and we are looking like an Empire on the verge of collapse. Fuck the police we are all citizens none better under rights given to us in a constitutional republic.

Shot an unarmed mad in the back....prone unarmed man.
The boy is dead.
the cop is using the oops defense.
You are right totally agree.
The boy jumped down prone right at the intercept of the gunshot that killed him..honest mistake?

Somebody was shot and killed. The Law recognizes degree's of murder, even if it was an accident the officer must be punished under the law like any other person. Unfortunately our Justice system seems to differentiate between citizens. :-|

I cant believe that some people believe that this cop was innocent and that this all may well be an accident. The cop was standing above an unarmed man that was laying on the ground below him after never having had a reason to remove his weapon in the first place, and he shoots the guy.
How can that NOT be intentional? He had no reason to have the gun out...!

Just because a man is on his belly doesn't rule him out as a threat, he could be digging in his pants for something or who know what else under there... he had no connections with this guy, and had everything in the world going for him now he's lost it all and will no doubt serve jail time, I can't believe some people are ignorant enough to believe he would do something like this purposely and in front of dozens of people, it just does not happen like that and if you think it does you're living in a dream world. Accident, mistake, whatever you want to call it, it's a serious thing but loss of life was definitely not intentional, I'll wager money on that... no joke. :eyesmoke:

He was not digging in his pockets he was face down with his hands on his head. How do you unintentionally fire a gun into someone's lower back? I just don't buy it.

dude may not have ment to lethally shoot him no, but shit happens and they are taught not to fire a bullet if they arent sure that there isnt anything behind it that they wish to destroy forever possibly.

Digging in his pocket for what? A weapon you cant see? A card that says Im deaf or some evidence to reason of why he was fighting? The officer should wait for the suspect to brandish a weapon visably before firing upon him, period.

The guy was laying there restrained. That defiantly counts as in custody and depending on legal standing point, possibly arrest.
I guarantee you one thing, if one of those people had gotten to him and beat the shit out of him, the police would be held liable.
Why arent they held liable when they kill the guy in custody? He made no action to be perceived as threat so this isnt self defense here...

and why are police officers attempting to dispose of evidence? Or collect cameras that are personal property not needed as evidence for their defense (since so many apparent witnesses were around and a camera only shows one view opposed to so many possible witness views)
