15 on/15 off has worked for aero-misters, so I don't see why it wouldn't work for foggers.I'll pick up a cheap 15 minute resolution timer and see how that works out with 15 on 15 off.
I'm only interested in producing quick healthy root systems that can be transferred to my 3" net cups easily.
If it turns out to be too troublesome to get the system to work, I'll just convert it into bubbleponics.
No loss, I just heard rumors of tap roots in 3 or 4 days and I want to see it for myself.
As for the pucks, the ones I linked are not the same generic ones sold as novelties and they are good for water soluble nutes. They don't say anything about run-time, but they are made by Nutramist so I have no doubt they'd be good 24/7 and you can buy replacement disks. Plus they are water-cooled being submerged like they are w/ saftey shut-off for low water levels. This is the same company that makes the serious 200w dealies. If a humidifier can run 24/7 (I have 2 of those Sunbeam humidifiers you're working with), no reason a quality puck can't handle the same. Besides you aren't even running your setup 24/7 anyway. WTF?
The dude on ICMag says he gets roots in 5 days, so I'd hold your system to the same standard.
I once had a cut in Rapid Rooters poke out in 4 days.
