CO2 from candles?

I was thinking that instead of buying some expemsive co2 equiptment couldn't you just light a few candles in your grow room. o2+wax= co2+H2O. Obviously you would need to be carefull so that you didn't set anything on fire, but do you think it would work?

Yeast + water + simple Sugar = CO2
alot safer than candles, alot cheaper than candles, last alot longer than a candle.

That's a good idea, a lot safer then candles but I think it would cost more then candles because of the sugar and not give off as much co2, good thinking though there might be another even better way.

Me and my old lady go the local Mexican Cantina, load up on beans and beer, and go home, get in the grow closet, and FART the tune to La Bamba in harmony.
Our plants just love it!!!

it puts out alot of CO2
I had that set up before it's called "Poor Mans CO2", and costs about $4.00 a week to run it last 7 - 10 days
1 lb of sugar 1/2 gallon of water and 1 teaspoon of Yeast-lager Yeast it puts out more CO2 than whine yeast or bread yeast. it will do 9 square feet at about 1200 - 1700 ppm

so how does this work? you mix it all together in a bowl and place the bowl near the plant?

Really? That sounds great, I brew my own beer so ive got some lager yeast lying around and about 10 kg of sugar in my cupboard, you could drink the stuff that's left as well... mmmm tasty. I was thinking it might not work because the fan would just take the co2 out of the room, but all co2 systems work in the same way so it can't be much of a problem.

poor circulation and fast growth like hydro or aero.

And you should not use candles. They put out a lot more than just co2 and your plants will not like it as they would the correct levels of pure co2. Might as well blow cigarette smoke in their faces.

You don't need any co2 anyway of any kind unless you are pushing growth to 100% in every other way as well.

candles wouldnt work for long enough i dont think, they burn up so fast
You can get packs of hundreds of tea lights for really cheap, and they last about an hour each, it's not ideal but it must be better then spending £500 on a co2 system thst you have to buy co2 cartridges for. Tea lights float on water too so you could put them in a bowl of water to minimize the fire hazard.

I see, so it's pointless for most people anyway. Ok, thanks.

then why bother asking us? :-|

guess my pot is not reaching it's "fullest potential".
I was just asking about easy ways to get co2 and then I remembered about that co2 science site that I used when I was writing an investigation into global warming for my A-level science course a few years ago. Your right that it probably makes hardly any difference and migh not be worth it, but if it only costs you the price of a few tea lights then I might as well try it.
