Growing secrets from badass growers

the title of this thread gives it the potential to be one of the illest threads on this site (pardon the vernacular). There really is nothing worse than reading the same people quote eachothers posts over and over debating over something that doesn't contribute to the thread. I see both sides to this little debate and i dont really give a fuck either way. if GT doesnt wanna share his "secrets" in the secrets from badass growers thread, thats fine. he's not quite bad ass enough. jk grotek

contribute some actual growing secrets tho if ur gonna keep posting in this shitty thread. (only shitty cuz theres how many, ten pages and like three secrets)

GrowTech

stays relevant.
if growtech were really good at keeping secrets, he wouldnt tell everyone that he had one...
It started off with me trying to get across this point: If you tell peoples secrets, people will stop telling you secrets because they can't trust you with them. A kind reminder to use your brain, go figure it would slip away into an abyss of bullshit on a stoner forum.

It's not that we don't like him having secrets. By all means keep your silly secrets. It was the attitude of "I have is information that i"m not sharing with you and then I will refuse to tell it to you." IF you don't want us to know something, don't tell us. Leave it as an unknown unknown. The moment you point out that you are intentionally ( and quite spitefully) keeping secrets people tend to throw up a finger. Noone feels like they have missed out. Noone is posting longwinded replies to try to drag the secret out, we all just saw something wrong in our wonderful forum and we want this type of attitude stamped out. Growtech is an asset to this community, and obviously a knowledgeable grower but he ran his mouth and everyone got up in arms. Just be more tactful next time. And for the love of god, leave your home life out of other people's threads. At no point was this dude's daddy issues a relevant issue to helping someone find their way in the growing habit. Let's lay it to rest. I'm sure Growtech has got a good idea that he responded hastily and I don't really care all that much so let's get back to good stuff..................
Like I said. I didn't come to this thread saying "neener neener neener" I came here saying if someone trusts you with a secret, you better fucking keep it- because people who go running their mouths lose friends quickly.

But here... want a tip? When setting up your light mover, use the best anchors you can find, or go straight into the stud... Here what just happened and why: Apparently I used some shitty anchors, and the light, light mover, light rail, support board, cool tube, ducting, etc all came crashing down on me... huge rookie mistake... thank god I duct AC air into the tubes so after it fell I unplugged and the lights cooled off quick enough to not burn anything on the ground.

like I said... HUGE rookie mistake. probably could have been avoided with a little bit more care and attention to detail. needless to say... this is not something that will repeat itself in the future...

i'll be back around later after I'm heavily medicated and am not aching from this stupid ass mistake.

oh yeah, and always make sure your wires are covered, even simple testing can go horribly wrong- and i'm lucky my exposed wiring didnt glance me as everything came crashing down..

Okey... so the most mystical secret that i have gotten from this thread so far is from the gentleman whose uncle fertilized in an expanding circular pattern around the plant. Unfortunately... that was about the only one.

Keeping secrets for the sake of honoring that request is just fine I am sure. But, personally, I can't imagine having a grow tip off hand that I would bother to keep secret... Perhaps if i had actually thought of one myself it would be a different story.

woohoo! a contribution from growtech!! +rep

wouldnt it have been easier to just START with that post? ;-)

sometimes the rookie tips are the best ones... here's one of mine:

if you are getting a new reservoir for your hydro system, especially one that holds a significant amount of water - TEST IT FIRST, some of the rubbermaid containers are shit, and have seems that leak, or very thin spots that leak, but they dont just pour out water... they seep it out nice and slow so you have no fucking idea whats going on ;-)

now i fill them up to the brim in my garage for 48 hrs before they ever see the inside of my grow room...

3 f---ing pages of reading hopeing to find some super secrets and of course this doofuss missed out on flojo's deal of the century for the secrets. lol.

one of the things i have learned and it was posted earlier in this thread is keep your op clean. anything from dirt, dust, or anything that can become floating in the air from your ventilation will eventually settle on you nice sticky buds and make for a nasty harsh unhealthy smoke.

growtech's advise on securely fastening your equipement was a good contribution even tho it should be common sence, some people overlook things like that. about 15 years ago i had 1 end of a fluoro come crashing down and snapped to plants pretty much in half. i propped them up with stakes and a little masking tape around the break and both plants repaired themselves. i thought i just discovered the secret of the universe. but im not telling. lol just kidding.

im not really looking for super secrets. and you can find almost all your questions answered with a little research.

even some of the common sence tips can possibly save a noob from making a disasterous mistake and kill their whole crop, then they get discouraged and never grow again.

i myself love doing research on this forum and try and find the answers. anyone who makes a mistake can learn a very good lesson and the best thing is once the lesson is learned you will never make the mistake again. on the job training is always best.

Very well said! You hit the nail on the head  That is exactly what I was trying to say in my foul-mouthed post above (which I got an infraction for..... geeee I wonder who ratted me out  )

This thread was put up with the intention of posting tips and secrets you'd be willing to share with others. If someone has things they don't want to share then fine.... move on.... there was no need to announce from a pedestal how much they know and then turn around and say "but I won't tell you all". I'm sorry but that is just antagonistic and quite frankly, childish.

Share what you want.... don't share what you don't want to.... but for goodness sake there is no need to antagonize others by bragging about what you know that you won't share!

Hey Gang,
How's my favorite group of people in the whole wide world doing. Listen, all of us out here in novice-land are particularly anxious about making mistakes and doing our best first time out. So I thought maybe some of you FREAKING BADASS GROWERS could share your best techniques and tips compiled in one thread.
my advice dnt go into it thinking your gonna have a ton of problems, dnt freak out over every little problem\ ask just dnt freak out, have your room set up b4 you start your grow\ proper lighting, exhaust and intake, walls with some sort of reflective properties, make sure temps are under control and your envirnment is setup fully...............

When you buy the proper nutrients and a good medium with no nutes, it is impossible to kill your plants. I have been growing for almost a year now and my plants are thriving.
Never! I have never killed one of my plants, again there are no secrets...
ive had seedlings eaten by cats cause i left em on the counter, thats the only time ive ever killed a plant unless it was male. i agree there are no secrets but plenty of tips likke keep the f-ing cats away frm yer plants and manny manny more

I respect Growtech's position.

Actually I get the impression that Growtec is boasting and advertising his trustworthiness, trying to plant a seed in more peoples minds that it's safe to invite him over and show your grow and share a smoke and secrets. Off that I am deducing you must be one of the people who goes to peoples grows and does video's and books like ***********, (name edited) that's why it's so important to you, right? Is that you?

I wish I'd thought about doing that earlier on before so many others. I'd have been good at it too. I think I missed my calling.

Damn now I'm depressed that I'm not Growtech/the guy I think you are (edited out the name in case it's a secret)

Envious.:weed:

Anyway there are many secrets. Tips to gain an egde on the competition. That's just how it is because it's not all free and legal and you're talking about peoples livelyhood.

Jesus people, get a clue, he helps people every god damn day on here, often patiently answering the same stupid shit a million times like he said. Give him a break, he has to keep secrets but none of it is anything you need to know anyway. Watch every video out there, read everything you can get your hands on or on your screen. Hop on TPB or similar and pirate your ass off watching video's from other countries, read everything on more advanced forums like Icmag too. Learn and learn and learn some more and then maybe you're ready for extra's.

Actually PAY to be a member here (those that have money)

You're not worthy! You're not ready!

there are NO secrets. sheesh.

hand lotion removbes sticky off your hands. glop some on, smear it around your hands then wipe it off with a dry towel or rag or whatever. takes the sticky resins right off.

there, is that a secret?

hey that is a good secret! good to know! that was always a problem for me washing my hands 10 times after trimming LOL

along those lines, putting veggie oil on your scissors before the trim helps keep resins at bay for a while, and a product u can get at home depot called goo b gone is badass for getting the resin off scissors..
