No it's fine! That won't affect anything negatively. I like Dyno Gro, very pH stable and easy to use!
do you find that the P is too high with dyna gro bloom? Thinking of using a bit of epsom salt and DG bloom in flower for my hpa system. Numbers seem a bit off though

30 days from flip.

Second runoff reading:

350ppm / 0.7 EC in, 500ppm / 1.0 EC out.

pH 6.2 in, pH 6.2 out.

- Both are stable and within range. I'll try to keep output under 1.0 EC out and I'll probably lower to 0.65 EC input and call it a day all the way through flower. They seem stable somewhere around here.

Cheers!

Hey there Wastei, looking awesome. Have a quick question about potassium silicate in my hpa system.

I believe that you ran 30-50ppm of PS in your aero system correct?

I’m running agsil16h and being told to run 16gs per 100gallons for aero. It puts my ph right at 5.8 using Jack’s 321 with RO water but it’s only 12-15ppms. If I go to 30ppm I do need to use ph down which isn’t the end of the world but wanted your feedback (please). Do I run 300ppm or use as directed?
59 days from flip! I've installed the new carbon filter. It's 5 feet from floor and now the place smell clean and sterile. Humidifier is running constantly set to 50% RH.View attachment 5392395View attachment 5392396View attachment 5392398View attachment 5392399View attachment 5392400

I'm helping my friend out ordering mineral salts from a local distributor of Yara.

I decided to make a copy of Jacks 5-12-26 since it's simple and effective and not accessible in the EU.

Jacks 5-12-26 copy:

3330g Magnesium Sulfate
1150g MKP
480g Potassium Nitrate
250g Rexolin APN

~ 5kg

/////////////////////////

16.65kg Magnesium Sulfate
5.75kg MKP
2.4kg Potassium Nitrate
1.25kg Trace mix/Rexolin APN

Total: 26.05kg

Jacks 5-12-26

35519.png
The different ppm values corresponds to the different batches and quality of the different mineral salts. Manganese is higher in the copy but with dilution I think it's a better concentration being slightly higher. All the numbers are from ~5g per gallons of either mix(they're more or less identical).

You could modify this formula and remove potassium nitrate to create a Copy of Masterblend 0-12-24. If you add back the potassium with potassium chloride you have instead created Jacks 0-12-26 formula. I guess they needed to change it slightly to not be a straight copy of Masterblend.

I hope this info helps somebody out, especially someone trying to source nutrients and minerals salts in the EU and wants to stay under the radar and at the same time use the best mineral salts available.

Cheers!

Slowly starting up again. I raised the flower tent and put humidifier and dehumidifier and carbon filter in place. It seemed easier than usual which is weird but I also did a lot of room planning which I rarely do.

I'm gonna be flowering some neglected Bruce Banner i ran a couple of months ago and kept some mom's. They haven't had the right environmental measures since the end of flower but still tags along. These two are from the same mom #7 from 8. Temporary placed on bins for now.

Things left to do are buffering some more coir so I can transplant into 3 gallon pots.
Do proper pest control before entering flower(two weeks every third day). I've been lazy but they're alright. The thrips are having a hard time since I started the pest control. Updating my journal in the upcoming days.

Cheers!

What do you think the cost savings is with this copy recipe?

Also what do you use for the part b?

Nice set-up ,how come you are running 2 arduino's ?
Thanks! That's the old Aeroponics setup laying in the basement. The two Arduinos are simple delay timers, one to control the spray on time and cycle time and the other to run the return pump.

When I have a proper location to set it up again I will run the return pump to a waste reservoir to feed my chilies.

I built this simple switchboard that's controlled by a digital aquarium timer that goes down to 1 second.

Currently being fed three times a day 16 seconds on time in coir. That changes throughout the grow.

Cheers!

Im surprised you didnt run the old aeroponics set-up off the 1 arduino .
I like the 8 dosing pump set-up and foam for vibration supression  looks sweet.

I needed a function so I made that. I'm not a PC programmer and built this system years ago before AI took over. I could probably hack and slash and add more code and modules but it won't make the system more stable or work any better. I ran into limitations so I just added another Arduino, you could sort it by adding a RTC module etc but then again more parts prone to failure and there's better speced parts on the PC hardware side.

The only positive would be to change the spray on time settings on a fixed console with buttons but then I rather setup a PC with CAN busses which leaves me endless possibilities for implementations.

There's better programming boards around nowadays. Both better pricings and specs. Arduino is not what I would choose for a system monitor or management system since it has so many hardware limitations.

Any idea why they suggest adding 1g of additional epsom salt when there’s already so much in the mix?

Do you use hydro buddy for your calculations? I’m hoping to figure out how to create their 10-30-20 and their clone mix.

Thanks in advance

It keeps the Ca:Mg ratio very close to 2:1. As I understand the base formula was added as a result of introduction of LED's. I do 4:2 in flower of A to B and skip Epsom salt all together. 5-12-26 has been around since 2002 and before that it was marketed as a Jacks Classic "veggie formula"

3-2-1 is a very affordable and stable veg formula that you can use throughout flower if you choose to. Mg is slightly too high but that's kinda of a positive depending on growing method.

I've used 3-2-1 from start to finish many cycles in everything from Aero to Coir but I like to lower nitrogen more on some long flowering sativa's that's why I wanted to figure out what's in the different formulas.

I use an old Excel spreadsheet I got here years ago that you can add whatever input to. I find it easier and more straight forward to use than Hydrobuddy. I mostly use my phone and you need a PC for HydroBuddy.

10-30-20 is a pretty bad NPK for flowering Cannabis, way to much P for me to be comfortable. If you choose to use it you have to figure that one out yourself! It's more for real blossoms and flowers that needs high P to flourish. Cannabis has low to moderate P requirements. Excess MKP will only crash pH in containers.

Here's a copy of Jacks Clone 15-6-17:

Calcium Nitrate - 8kg
Magnesium Nitrate - 5.5kg
MKP - 6kg
Potassium Nitrate - 3.65kg
Rexolin APN - 150g

Total - 23.3kg

Cheers!

Thanks a million wastei. Super appreciated.

The 10-30-20 is only to be used for the first 3-5 days after flip. Peters call for longer but found 4-5 works well.

I forgot to list Ammonium nitrate when I posted the recipe for 15-6-17. Here's the complete list:

Ammonium nitrate - 9.4kg
Calcium Nitrate - 8kg
Magnesium Nitrate - 5.5kg
MKP - 6kg
Potassium Nitrate - 3.65kg
Rexolin APN - 150g

Total = 32.7kg

Oh wow. That’s a lot of ammonium nitrate. Definitely too high for aero.

Thanks again wastei. Always appreciated
