Scottish power have to be the most useless cunts in the universe honestly 4 years to get pay as you go meters installed I even let the warrant go through court they cancelled it multiple times finally sorted today everyone else is fighting them to avoid it I been fighting with em trying to get them to do it ah fun and games least its sorted now only thing is it's smart meters but I imagine won't matter as long as you pay for what you use they never cared in the past can't see them caring now any of you guys got these at home ?

That's a week and more the pots have been bagged they're killing fungus gnats left and right.
Most get stuck to the wet roof and drown and any that miss it end up in that squish area lol (right) shooting fish in a barrel.

They're easy squished and they've not had the chance to breed

A total head fk...I've caught 5 on the sticky trap and 5/6 in flight over 8 days idk where they've come from, I'm guessing they've squeezed out somewhere so I've sealed the clones again only with bags this time and tweaked the ones in pots to be sure they can't get out...fingers crossed.

Can someone explain to me the importance of e.c ? I know if it's too high your mix ratio is too strong but to be honest I've never measured it I've just stuck to a ph zone between 5.9 and 6.4 and the ratios on the back of bottles for mixing and not had a problem ? But all I hear big room growers on podcast is talking about e.c and never ph ?

Basically it's how much mineral is in the nutrient, nutrient conducts electricity it's used to measure its strength hence the term electro conductivity aka ec or conductivity factor cf.

The ph is lowers significantly with my tap water so anything above 1.2ec needs silica to raise it back up to 5.9/6.0.

Isit as important as these American growers are making it out to be or is it all just more dialed in if you got that the ph your vpd all these things on point ?

Bang on mate except id say concentration not strength or strong because terms like strong in chemistry means something different a strong acid is one that dissociates as in it completely breaks down in water easily like say hydrochloric acid for example then you have weak acids like ethanoic acid aka vinegar those do not dissociate easily in water so only so much of it will readily break down in water hence the weak bit bud

It's the true measure of a nutrient solutions concentration pH is just ph levels bud that only tells you if it's acidic basic or neutral it's definitely worth you reading up on it man especially if you ever do hydro or Coco etc

With coco dtw i don't think it's ultra important the ec is point perfect only that's somewhere in the window to keep them healthy looking, keeping it simple.

It would be interesting to know what they base the ideal ec on, some might say the recommended dose?
I'd say it's the plants and the individuals environment, so without testing nutrient it's difficult to even define the ideal ec...this is why I like dtw.

Our plants naturally evaporate water which in turn pulls in nutrient so our environment being hotter or cooler or more/less humid than another creates differences in nutrient uptake making the ideal ec even more difficult to pin down.

Im curious too cos I know for a fact there is a difference between strains some wants more some wants less so I'd be curious how they work out the best overall ec in general as a one size fits all rule

I'm running coco and a drain to waste system ... I've been thinking about dripper system set up on a timer and a res as the property I grow on is away from my place and every other day I'm back and forth with a res and timers I could leave it a week and so on ..... anyone have a good link for a good ec pen ? I am curious as I've never done it and seem to be getting good results but maybe if I brought e c in I could get better results ....

1st photo ... Mac 1 ( caps cut )
2nd photos ... Dante's inferno ( tiki cut )

day 23 f
