Thermoelectric wine cooler drying and curing - DIY

I leave the dehumidifier running and at 58-60%. The buds will still have some moisture in them, here on the east coast I can leave them in for about 3 months before they fall lower than 58%, I don’t open the door to the cooler often though. If the cooler is in an environment that is below 58% rh and you open the door frequently that will change obviously, and once the cooler starts dropping below 57% or so I’d put a damp sponge in or bag/jar them up, but if the door is left closed and ambient rh is above 58% it shouldn’t be an issue.
so the humidifier kick in at 60% rh with 2% deferential?

Yes, although it will kick in less frequently, it will keep everything just right for an excellent cure. Only reason I ever take bud out is when I need to start another harvest.
I’m gonna have to take my buds out after it’s been dried/when it reaches 60%. Problem is i don’t have another hookatroll for now. Do you think it’s okay to bag my weed in grove bags and store it in a compressor fridge when it reach 60%. Or will a compressor fridge ruin the curing process even though it’s in grove bags?

I'm looking forward to using my DIY Canna-Troll very very soon and I'm thinking about where to put it, but my question is: Do they make a lot of ambient smell? Any help is appreciated

I just built one of these tonight. Starting a progressive harvest of a massive 7 foot tall super lemon haze in the morning. This was my best option and the colas and tops are all ready for the chop. Bottoms can use the 8-10 days to tighten up. I used an old ac infinity controller 76 I had laying around. The probe is compatible with all their newer stuff so I can go all WiFi later down the line. This was so freaking easy I wish I’d built this years ago!

This is not working for me. Just super high rh. So I was better off leaving the door open cuz I had better temp and rh.

No, they have very little to no smell unless you open the door.

So even the true thing shows door open good, shut door then boom rh goes above 80rh and can’t keep up
That’s normal. If you want to hang dry first no problem, but in a very small enclosed environment the rh is going to go up when packed with bud. 80% is about average, it has to start with the rh of the bud and lower from there. If you were to put the buds in a room at 60% rh and the room stayed at 60% that doesn’t mean the buds are done, just the room is so large it doesn’t affect the rh of the room. In such a small space packed with bud it has to go up, then the dehumidifier slowly pulls the moisture out.

ok. I was just worried but I notice it’s already coming down and evening out. Now I’ll do .5 -1 % drop a day

Anyone else's koolatron make a loud ass humming / virbrating sound? I plugged it in last night and let it run all night and day with some baking soda in it. Came home and its making a pretty annoying sound.

Nope, that’s not normal. Make sure it’s not just something in the fan, the baking soda tray vibrating, or it’s not sitting on a solid surface first. Try smacking the side a few times. If that doesn’t work brandish a screwdriver menacingly and recite the saying “E=I x R” 10 times. That is ohms law, and the sound of it usually scares electrons into working properly knowing you have a screwdriver, are ready to operate, and really might know something. If that doesn’t work report back for more ideas.
