It's really been going around again. I'm still hacking after 4 weeks.
I’m feeling better after only a week and a couple days, but I’m still hacking up stuff as well, and just dragging over all. This one really sucks. I also noticed my taste and smell is gone for some things. I walked into the grow room a couple weeks ago and was happy they were starting to smell quite nice. Now I can’t smell them at all. And as much as chlorine smells, I added some to the pool last night and couldn’t smell it at all, weird. The only bizarre good side is I have had constant back pain for the last several years, woke up this morning and it’s practically gone. Maybe the rest of my body hurts enough to cover it up, who knows.

Oh yeah, the job site I was at yesterday took an addition to an old barn, turned living quarters, and turned it into a "small" greenhouse. They had a botanicare tray on stands that was approximately 4' x 20' I was envious. So cool looking. I asked what she was going to grow. Veggies and hopefully some flower starts. Sounds like it's her husband's new hobby. He's pumped about it. She's not so sure. I told her to skip the gardening sites and go straight to Cannabis sites to learn the ins and outs of hydroponics and gave them the info on the local grow shop should they need stuff in a hurry or any pointers.

I've been coveting this place since I moved here. Just walked by on my way back from the driving range. No neighbors at all. Cemetery on 2 sides, across the street from the college arboretum in front and the golf course across the road on the side. It used to have a serious glass and wrought-iron greenhouse I would have kept, obvs.20240822_142121.jpg

... I aim to disturb the humorless and humor the disturbed ...
OK ... so now I'm disturbed!

I suppose that's what you get when you work with PM's who graduated First In Show from The Project Management Douchebaggery. When you give your task updates and specific reasons for any task delays to your project manager ... it's the role of said PM to accurately relay those updates upwards. Innit?

Well ... you can bet my representative from The Douchebaggery didn't:
  • PM's note - "Certain task delays were experienced due to Starecase working with other higher priority tasks."
  • Translation - "I have no fucking clue what Starecase just said. Let's see if this totally BS update sticks"

So I had to do the PM's job and provide a few more of those specific details to the Director who went from "WTF" initially to "Well Done, son!" after my updates.

Hey - Douchebaggery grad - you realize the Big Boss now knows how useless you are to this project ... n'est pas?

OK - Cronk out.

No. The owners are....odd. single siblings who inherited the family horticulture biz. Used to see them bicycling round town in white shirts, bow ties and trim mustaches. I am not kidding. They just poured a new curved driveway, it's perfect, but slightly narrow as if it were sized for a Model T Ford. Oh, and the cemetery shares the same name. The movie cliches are boundless.

The pic gave me a touch of the Amityville Horror vibe ... speaking of movies.

There comes a time in every project where it is necessary to shoot the engineer and get on with the job.
