Does the danger of being pollinated pass?

I had a plant that turned out male.
I whacked him off about 6” from the ground… he didn’t die. He has pollen sacks again.

I have 1 female that bloomed on June 26, right after the equinox. Is she still in danger of being ruined by the male next to her?

I know I can eliminate him again… but I’d like to let him grow and I don’t really care if I get a few seeds, I just don’t want to ruin my girl.

If there are while pistils then it can still be pollinated, now whether you have enough time to get viable seeds if a factor of how long the it takes for the buds to mature, you need about 30-40 days for viable seeds to form. Really depends on how many seeds you want, if the male flowers opened and dropped pollen, you'll get a few seeds. if you want more, leave the male there, if you don't, give him the habeus yankus!

When I wanted a "few" seeds I would grow a small male plant outside my greenhouse and in my case the plants would throw a few pistils at the nodes in early to mid May. I'd take the flowering male to the open door of the greenhouse tap it twice, and shut the door and throw male away. I'd normally get almost no seeds in the buds, but I'd get a handfull at the nodes, they were normally all fat and dark before the buds even matured.

I don’t know the origin of this, but this year marks the 7th generation being grown in my county, rural Virginia, about 900’ elevation.
I call it Where’s Waldo!
It blooms super early, I noticed it blooming just days after the equinox on June 26 and she’s about finished up! In the ground they grow about 8’ x 8’ with stomas the size of a large forearm!

You aint gona end up with just a few seeds. About four male pods can pollinate a whole plant. One full grown male in a feild of a 1000 females is enough to get bag fulls of seed. Each pollen grain is tinny and is all it takes to pollinate one single pistol to make seed. Every single seprate pistol has the potential to become a seed.
Also once a pistol is polinated that part of the bud will stop growing and concentrated on just developing seed.
Im curious as to why you want to keep the male plant going if you dont really want to use him for pollen ?

You’re right to some degree I imagine, but we’ve all seen big seedy buds… I probably “cleaned” lbs of weed in the 70’s & 80’s… that was about all you could get!

Last year I was gifted some seed from a kind member here. It grew into, what for me, is perfect bud: Super aromatic (Basil-ish), tastes about the same as it smells, super smooth (can’t get a cough out of it no matter how you lite it), not super strong, no jittery feeling and no crash…
just a mellow relaxing experience, BUT you will eat everything in the cupboard.
I had 2 seeds left over this year, one sprouted and stayed alive all summer reaching a height of 10”… the other grew into a big bushy plant, then flowered male.
I have one other plant that is really nice for different reasons. This is the plant that is almost ready to harvest… I was hoping to pollinate a couple of the interior flowers and collect a few seeds.
I moved the male inside for my nieghbors protection. But the pollen sacs aren’t opening or maybe the pollen is just so small that I can’t see it.

So as to “ WHY”?…
I’m enjoying growing as a hobby, so I’m just piddling around with the plants, and maybe I will (by dumb luck) produce something enjoyable to me, my family, neighbors and friends.

You're not alone . I've got one about 150 foot away from one of mine. I had planned to harvest some pollen for the freezer. Haven't done it yet though. Here soon...

You going to save any pollen?

I collected some today in a baggie, I “tried” pollinating 2 interior buds, by putting the bud in the bag and shaking the bag, I’ll see if it takes.

I think I will try to save some of the pollen for next year.

Dip a q-tip in the pollen bag, then drag it over the pistils. You’ll have to freeze the pollen to preserve it for that long.

so I collected pollen by putting a baggie over the pollen sacks and shaking, it sticks to the inside of the baggie.
I pollinated a few lesser buds at the bottom of my plant last week.
I returned from a road trip to find the pistils on my lady at full attention… they had curled up a bit prior to pollination. I also notice the pistils on the buds I pollinated are still curled and browning.
Gonna be interesting to see if I can make some seed this late.
Also; The plant seems ready to harvest, the leaves are turning purple on the tips and edges, the Calyx’s (?) are swollen, but when I use a cheapo microscope thingy I don’t see any amber trichromes (?)
