old school skunk

I lived it. It's not nostalgia. I have yet to smoke a newer "fire" strain that gets me even close to those strains I had in the 90's.
I just posted on my grow journal, about this VERY thing! Everything in todays genetics are so convoluted, they are hundreds of strains deep! Breeding for high THC, seems to be making everything like moonshine. It will get you fucked up, but the buzz is similar on most of them. I get a more, quick, heavy buzz from newer strains.
I like the slow creep and 15 minutes later, "what the hell did I just do?"
I've gotten high as hell, from 17%-20% THC strains. I feel like I was higher in the 90s than I've been these past few decades.
It's not tolerance, I smoked some Columbian land race recently and it fucked me up!

Yessir. I barely get a buzz from this new crap. I'm excited to sample the cripXmas. It better get me so high that I don't want to go into the gas station to buy a drink. Remember being that high? I sure as fuck do. That was my baseline

I totally agree! With all these genetics 100 strains deep, how can ANY strain really have stable genetics? Find a pheno with a great expression, and it's always, a "one off" recessive gene trait.
Try breeding that through sorting out genetic expression and isolate the particular trait you are looking for. Nearly impossible! It came from 100 other strains! That's why everything is S1female beans now.
That's also why it's so important to try and find simple, two way crosses and "anchor strains", that were bred and sorted with hundreds of plants over multiple generations from f1, f2, f3 etc...

Selfing a plant with silver nitrate is NOT breeding.

Sorry to tell you mate but you won't find that old skunk in their Shiva Skunk. I grew out 2 packs not long ago that I got in 2003 and while it was super dank weed, there wasn't any real skunk to be found. Very potent weed though, you'll at least enjoy the smoke!
Well that's too bad about the Shiva Skunk. I knew it was a cross, but thought it might have that Skunk smell and taste. Its a beautiful plant and grows great. I grew Sensi seeds SK1 about 10 years ago, and it was stinky, pretty, a nice producer, but wasn't very strong.

Yeah I went into it hoping for the same. Don't get me wrong, it is a solid strain, just not skunk unfortunately!

I agree mate sure s1s are good for opening up a gene pool or can be used as a short cut to fix intersex sometimes or just for flower production but yeah reversing aint breeding hell using anything less than a couple of thousand regular male and female plants in a line isn't breeding its just targeted pollen chucking imo but because of the law it is what it is and people make do best they can as it stands now

But are they rks?
Definitely not. It's their attempt at recreating it in the early 2000's. It's sweet smelling, rather than acrid. I've been through a few hundred of their Skunk #1 seeds hunting a decade ago when I was a bit of a noob thinking that it HAD to be it and it was just a certain phenotype I just needed to find. The tried what they thought was the breeding of Mexaaican Sativa, Thai, and Afghani but is most definitely not the dank stuff from back in the day. Not even the same high. Sensi's skunk is a lazy smoke rather than the "I need to name every dish in my bathroom" smoke, lol...

Thank You. I have grown so weary of places calling themselves breeders becasue they took someone else's female and Gave it the STS or Colloidal Silver trament to make them throw some pollen, then snap a few pics of the absolute nicest expressing plant in the garden, even though 90 percent of the others look look like ditch got fucked by Elmo, and then calling it a new strain. I even hate the wird strain for bud, personally. It makes it sound like a virus rather than a gift from nature. Anyhoo, any pollen chucker worth their salt know it takes years to breed a successful stable genetic and S1 is a way to backtrack through the lineagee, in a way, but you you will never get the results of starting ith low count genetics and building up with males and females. WE NEED TO STOP THE TRANS PLANT MOVEMENT BEFORE IT"S TOO LATE!!!! lol
