Exactly what ive been shooting for, keeping things tidy and doing my best to prevent a breeding ground for anything uninvited. My space is so small it is absolute I utilize every inch and branch.I don't worry to much about undergrowth or trimming till I'm in flower about 3 weeks. I do remove some leaf and grow sparingly till that point then I clean it out.
In veg ya got plant matter growing all over as ya try to guide them with training. Giving that growth below the chance to rise up will add to your harvest. Is it all going to contribute...no. Some material needs removed for airflow. Leaf can clog up things. Going slow with trimming in veg is okay. To me it really counts when the plant is set and ready for flower. Get in there and clean all growth from below. Give them buds new life and air flow.
Most importantly to me is getting all I can get from a plant. If I remove stuff to early I'm not letting her show me all she has to offer.
That floater scrog I'm using is a very good tool to spread plants without the need for ties. I'm posting some pics in my thread later of the Tangie in a floater. She's coming along so nice and well shaped.
