4 days of drying and my buds are crispy and crumble upon touch

I harvested my cannabis 4 days ago. I left about 40% of the leaves on the plant. And the bigger buds feels so dry and crispy. The smaller nugs apperently are much less dry and are kind of squishy when touch them. I have kept my humidity around 55-65% at all times and temprature at 68F. How can my buds be so dry after just 4 days?? They look and feel super dry. The stem won’t snap still. But should I trim them and jar them up now or wait until stem snaps? I have broveda packs 62%. Hoping they will re moisture when jarred

How big/dense are the buds? It's going to vary depending on the plant, but you want to shoot for at least 14 days of 60/60, in general. It makes a big difference if you jar them too early.

No, I have the extractor fan installed on top or the tent, which is right beside the buds. But I keep that on a low setting. But I suspect that the extractor fan may have a big role in the dryness of the buds

Well, the whole auto flower thing is new to me. It's a different plant. It doesn't look or grow the same as classic marijuana. I can't really comment on it. It's usually associated with younger people. I'm old and I prefer the old, classic photo period marijuana that's been used for smoking for thousands of years. Like I say, this site has made a special section for questions about auto flower plants because it's a separate thing altogether.

Just control your drying environment, run at 60 RH and keep the temps as low as you can and keep the air moving. And do not wet trim. Leave the bud on the branches with all the leaf still attached.

Those grove bags are a bit of a gimmick imo. If you slow dry your weed on the branches for 2+ weeks then cure in the jar for another 2-4 it'll be as good as it's ever gonna be.

I agree with the drying advice 100%, but there are some advantages to using Grove bags for long-term storage: They don't take up much space....They aren't fragile....They shield against UV rays....They can be heat-sealed. The technology has been around for quite awhile in the food industry. The Grove bag people just made it commercially-available and hyped them for weed, specifically.

like others have said no way the big buds are dry all the way threw, if the little ones are still squishy.if you put the crusty outside buds in a jar check them in little they will be squishy and way to early to keep in a jar. deff did this my first couple cures

That sums it up nicely

One other possibility is that the big buds that crumble upon touching after 4 days do so because of botrytis.
There's no world where the large buds will dry faster than the small buds.
The crumbling after four days, if accurate, is troublesome.

I got 4 hygrometers running around the room. All show somewhere between 55 - 65% there is no mold present. If it was so moldy that it got crunchy it would be pretty obvious. But all bigger buds are crunchy. And there is 18 buds that are on the bigger side
