Thanks for not killing it and for the people on Facebook with bull snakes if they're the same that are up in Minnesota they're there because they're eating the Rattlers so they might want to rethink their course of actionLOL. We have the rattlers and BIG bull snakes. The former isn't too popular but I've seen folks on Fakebook say they have a BIG bullsnake in a barn/shed and are freaked out over it....and someone else local will go get it to let it loose at their place.
I found a rattler 2 years ago curled up by the house in the AM. Scooped him/it in a 5 gallon bucket with a rake and relocated him across the river in a more desert area. When I let him out...then turned around and put the bucket/etc back in the truck I looked for him again and thought he'd crawled away...but soon saw him and was amazed how well he blended in.

Roadrunner that's one bird I don't get to see even heard mentioned in awhile,or cool lizards you all get there. Cool how your buddy chips and lizard comes running.Around these parts it's pack rats that get into the wiring. We've never had any problems but those that live on the edges of the desert do.
We do have ground squirrels but you seldom see them. Little buggers are quick and elusive. They have to be because just about everything eats them. If the gopher, king or rattlesnakes don't get them the hawks owls or roadrunners will. If they survive those you still got your bobcats and coyotes. It's tough being a rodent around here.
I had a big lizard watching me the other day. I have some plants on the ledge near his abode. He was very interested in me watering them and got to within a couple of feet of me.Roadrunner that's one bird I don't get to see even heard mentioned in awhile,or cool lizards you all get there. We used to get alligator lizards on our patio, Roxy doesn't allow lizards anywhere in her yard though.
