Just so yo know if the environment isn't right PH doesn't matter because PM will most likely show-up, or other calamities.

I have no powdery mildew, never mentioned any problems with powdery mildew, My tent is fine, I'm worried that I will burn my new plants or lock out the nutes if the PH is too high, that's all. I think a 4x4 tent with 500w (actual watts, not equivalent)of full spectrum lighting, 50% humidity, and 80 degrees in flower is plenty good enough.

Phosphoric acid is the most common pH down for hydro. NItric or Sulfuric acid are also viable choices.
Stay away from citrus acid, vinegar, or other organic acids as they're not nearly as effective and generally not recommended for use in hydroponics.

Are you growing in soil? If so, there's no need to adjust pH of the water, even at a pH of 8.4. Soil is teeming with life and microbes that do the work for ya, as long as natural inputs are used.. Have you thought about adding mycorrhizae or beneficial bacterias? This is one example: Big Foot Mycorrhizae
Are you growing in coco and feeding salt nutrients? Definitely invest in a formulated pH adjuster. I personally have never seen fall out from using pH down, even using tap. Maybe switching to another pH down product would help correct the issue.

So your tap water could be lower than mine, is it well water or treated water?

So if you've never tested it how do you know it isn't around 7 PH? Your tap water may be totally different than mine, different nutrients added, more chlorine, or sodium.

Heya.
I have well water that sits around 8.2. Vinegar will work but the adjustment isn't long term. Try to pH out some water with it...then come back the next day and see where the pH is.
I just couldn't get rid of the pale yellow until I got the real deal pH down chems. Even dropping it to 5 cus I knew it would rise in a day didn't do it.
Just wasn't good here for long term use. pH chems are cheap.
Anyone who says "you don't need to do that..the soil will take care of it all!" hasn't done a grow with high pH water. @ some point lock out will show up...usually in flower when yer counting on weight. With the price/value of weed...a $15 bottle of pH down and a pH pen is nada in the scheme of things.

Tap water I'm using is 7.9 I just recently switched to advanced nutrients powder so that probably helps but I never had problems with any nutrients I used I'm not saying you shouldn't adjust the ph do what it takes to get your plants healthy I just don't check and never really have

I hate to ask a stupid question here but I am so afraid of overwatering I think I don't water enough, it says 1.7 gallons of water for a 2 gal pot, that sounds really high to me.

I just ran some clones in a turbo cloner for the first time ph was rising over 8.0 daily after I adjusted everything I found that the ph wasn't the problem I was not feeding enough plants were suffering from nitrogen deficiencies I'm going to run some clones here soon one tray with ph adjusted one without I will let you know what the results are

Well I PH'ed a few gallons of my tap water 3 days ago with white vinegar and it's still under 6.5. I'm hand feeding daily as well so vinegar should be fine right? If I PH it to 6.2 and it raises a bit before I feed it again won't that allow for a better range of PH because they take up nutrients at different PH levels?
