I need to update my lights, but there are so many that don't list the actual wattage, anyone have any suggestions?

ok you need 480w and above. i personally use 4 lumatek attis 200w in the same space at 60%. they are not the most efficient fixtures out there at 2.3 umol/j but it has ir too which i like. and personally i think this umol/j is a little bit overrated as most claims are on the border of bs for most companies. at least with lumatek you know what you are getting. the actual diode efficacy on these units are 2.7-2.9 umol/j etc.
as you can see i’m very happy with my lumateks
so i personally can suggest lumatek lights in general and 4 200w units give you so much flexibility in multi strain grows. there is also zeus line from lumatek which is also supposed to be pretty good.
other than that i havent used any branded led fixture but people also seem to enjoy mars hydro products but if i had to go with a led fixture again i’d go lumatek. the drawbacks are these attis fixtures dont daisy chain and the dimming is 20-40-60-80-100 so doesnt give you complete control. for the price and quality though its pretty good.

I know I need around 500w, but with LEDs there isn't really enough room to hang 5 100 actual watt lights in there. I was looking for option with higher actual wattage. Too many claiming 1000w but they only use 100 actual watts. I think I'm just going to split my tent in half because I only have two going at one time.

I run a Vipar KS5000 in a 4x4 and have been very pleased. I only have one run under it done since I switched, but it has great coverage and a quality build. No doubt in my mind that it is superior to the four board 480w fixture it replaced. Is it a top end light, not really. But for a home grower on a budget, I think its pretty hard to find anything else under $400 with the coverage and components used.
Here is a good review to check out, it convinced me to give it a shot.

I have other brand lights and clones from the same mother, fed exactly the same are noticeable better under the vipar fixtures

Check the dimensions of the lights
The vipaslectra is 4 foot by 4 foot
I was in the same boat upgrade 100w lights but you can do the 3 months PayPal thing or clear pay or whatever

Keepnyour eye on the g4500 its expencive last time I looked but it was reduced big time at Christmas might happen again maybe 4 20 sale or something
The wattage lingo isn’t that tricky really. Usually with the cheaper “no name” lights its just lose the last zero on the light model. Like a FX6000 will just be a 600watt. A GR4800 is likely a 480w. Etc etc. And i think usually if you read all the info it will list somewhere the real number. Amazon has plenty of budget options nowadays that will grow good buds. You can easily get a 6-700 watt light for $300ish

If they're available in your location, save up a few more sheckels and get an HLG, quality components, incredible customer service, 5 year warranty. I'd look at a refurbished ones also.

Yeah but I see lights advertised as "2000 w equivalent" then it only uses 100 w.
