I put the caged plates on the bottom. The weight of the jack puts a little preload on the springs and stays in place nicely. I've also used the 12 ton for other metalwork. It's nice it will do the job no problem. Not as big but still big and takes up a lot of room.

Your surface area is the bag size not the plate size.

I´v got 4 250W heating elements and thermostatic control unit with probes. They send just one unit so i had to claim other one today. 70x100 mm (2,7x4´) aluminium plates will make my friend, he does with metals for living, pic...Cables, plugs.


7 t jack in home made steel frame (will make my employee).

Hope I´m pressing in 14 days.

I wouldn't dissuade you from diy, but I'm not sure any h-frame press without a pressure gauge is better than a NugSmasher or Dab Press. Go with whatever's cheaper. Just my .02.

Was looking for comericial ones, Qnubu avilable in Europe seems expensive to me. OG crush 5t made localy is for 1120$, which is not that bad. I can build it for 300$.

Alas no, I bought the press but got sidetracked and ended up giving the Harbor Freight press to a friend in need.
