Not many will pay that kind of money to fuck themselves! You might not like Elon, but he, like Trump, is his own worst enemy and nobody could do worse to him than he does to himself! His pathological narcissism appears to be progressing, I call it pathological when it causes harm to oneself and others. To begin with, most normal people would have retired after making a pile of millions and devoted themselves to hedonistic pleasures and their communities or helping others or both. Elon needed something more, he has an unfillable emptiness in his soul, an unsatiable hunger and need, he also doesn't have much of a heart. Because he has no heart, he is not wise and can't be, wisdom requires a heart and brains enough to use it.

Did Dorsey know Musk has Asperger's? I think Musk has more than a "mild" form. One characteristic of the disease is high integrity which might explain his free speech "absolutism". Two others are development of harmful psychological problems and poor social skills, which explains his hypocrisy regarding free speech. In other words, he was far from an ideal owner of an influential social network platform.

Sweden leads the world in EV adoption, and this involves union members in their own country. One would assume such things apply to Chinese companies too, but they would probably sell custom versions (to comply with EU regs) to a local company who would market and do warranty work. Tesla has no dealer network and must employ these people directly or through a local contractor. The Chinese are selling lots of EVs at home and increasingly in the EU and other countries as they are using the transition to break into the global auto market. I would expect them to cut deals with the big three to get into the US market too.

There is probably a boycott of Tesla's in Israel by now so expect the Chinese to move in!

Elon Musk on Monday boosted the dangerous, years-old “Pizzagate” conspiracy theory in a post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, just days after being roundly criticized and facing an advertiser exodus following his embrace of an antisemitic conspiracy theory.

In a post Monday, an X user attempted to link the founder of Media Matters — the progressive media watchdog that last week identified ads for major brands running alongside pro-Nazi content on X — to the owner of the “Pizzagate restaurant.” Musk replied: “Weird.” By replying, Musk called the post to the attention of his more than 160 million followers on X.

Pizzagate is an anti-Hillary Clinton conspiracy theory that spun up on 4chan, Reddit, Twitter and other platforms in the final days before the 2016 US presidential election. Believers imagined a pedophilia ring supposedly being run out of a Washington, DC pizza shop that involved Clinton and other Democrats.

The wildly false claims were behind self-appointed “investigator” Edgar Maddison Welch’s decision in December of that year to fire an assault rifle inside the restaurant. (No one was hurt, and Welch later pleaded guilty and was sentenced to four years in prison.)...

Elon is making enemies faster than Hitler! I think Tesla is gonna take a hit over this, Twitter is. Uncle Sam might be concerned about spaceX and national security and if Joe and the democrats win in 24, Elon might lose control of SpaceX or have it broken up into launch services and a separate starlink satellite internet company.

SpaceX has become an important national security asset for America and its allies both for launches and satellite communications. Uncle Sam could give starlink satellite control to allied drones of all kinds, vastly increasing the military capability of allies like Tiawan or South Korea, while being able to monitor, geofence and shut down systems, America would have ultimate control over the system. The advantages such a system and the weapons developed for it would be a powerful inducement to join America in an alliance. It could give America a serious military and geopolitical edge by empowering the defense of allies.

If Israel wanted to strike Iran, turning old fighter bombers into starlink drones would a way to do it with no risk to aircrews, or use a stealth starlink controlled drone operating at low level and bomb anywhere in the country. An allied country would not need to risk aircrews with starlink controlled satellite drone UAVs or boats, even ships. Secure military communications would also be a capability of course.

Elon does not appear to be a reliable partner for any of this stuff and if the democrats win in 24, he might end up losing control to more reliable traditional partners. If the democrats win, Twitter will face US regulation too, if Elon hasn't killed it before the election, or more likely just after. He just made powerful enemies who have a lot of influence in both political parties.

So roughly ~250mil at stake, lower than other fines for Meta, Amazon, TikTok, Microsoft, Google, but, could be a good shit show to see how this goes down.

"Threads" was just made available in EU last week. Zuck submitted after a couple of billion in fines, Musk will probably vent on X and escalate. Best case scenario, he will continue to violate EU rules, not cooperate, and get more fines to a point it just won't be worth it to have that cesspool of alternative news and hate speech available for EU citizens.

Good advice I've already followed.

I had paid my deposit for starlink and a few months ago almost a year later after paying that got an email that it was ready to ship.

I told them to forget it. Did get my deposit back just a few days later so can't bitch about that.

People close to the Tesla Inc. and SpaceX chief executive officer told the newspaper his drug use is ongoing, and that in particular he’s consuming ketamine. Musk said in August he has a prescription to use the drug as an antidepressant.
