New here and to growing. I've watched everything I could find on YouTube. I think I'm ready.

What I've bought so far.
24"x24"x56" Grow tent.
110cfm 4" fan.
4" carbon filter.
Spider Farmer SF-1000 EVO.
Several autoflowers from Royal Queen Seeds.
5 gallon cloth planters.
2-24 hour manual timers.
All in one PH and PPM meter.
Variety of other parts and pieces.

The tent with be in my basement that stays around 76⁰ and 50% humidity.

I'll be using an app for the PAR.

I'm going to wait until the law is in place before I start growing.

Good luck with your new hobby, congrats. It's great you've researched, time and experience will be your best teacher. Riu can help quite a bit as well.
One thing I'd recommend is raising your tent off the basement floor if you can. You can always put your pots up on something inside the tent, but basement floors are notoriously damp, wet and cold if it's like the basements I'm familiar with. If possible, I think a base under the whole tent might be worthwhile. I've read about a lot of issues growing in basements here on the forum.
Gl with your grow. ( I'd start a little earlier than dec 7, what's it gonna hurt;))

Thanks,

My basement is dry. The central AC/Heater circulates in the basement too. I also have a whole house humidifier on it that is kept at 50%.

I thought of that. I'm planning on making an open structure box to sit the tent on. This way the air can circulate underneath.

good luck! i started back in october when i was reading about the high likelihood of issue 2 passing. i wanted to get a head start haha! i got my medical card back in january after not smoking for over 20 years. going to a dispensary for the first time was wild, and i'm enjoying cannabis much more this time around as an emotionally stable adult.
sounds like you've got some good equipment to get started. what growing medium will you be using?

I bought this stuff to start with. Probably not the best. But I have it already.

Burpee Organic.

i think as long as you have good dry amendments and feed regularly, the burpee brand is gonna be fine. i've been using Dr Earth Veg and Dr Earth Flower Girl. when i first mixed up my soil, i had 1/3 bagged mix, 1/3 perlite, and 1/3 earthworm castings. i added the amendments at a ratio of 2T per gallon of container. i also used mycorrhizae on the root ball when i transferred from the 4" pot to the 3 gallon bag.

Thanks, I plan on ordering some perlite. Just have to wait until my next paycheck.

Here's a cabinet with a built in vent stack I'm building for my brother. His tent is exactly the same size.

Cool,

I'm not going that fancy. Just a small 6" rise off of the floor will do.

One plant at a time is plenty for me to learn with.

I'm more interested in making seeds than smoking and trying to make new strains.

It's been over 40 years since the last time I smoked weed.
Are your auto flowers femininized? If so, how do you plan on making seeds? On the other hand, since you only plan on having one plant at a time, how do you plan on making seeds?

Other than that this seems like a great starter environment for someone to learn and play.

In the past I'd set up a separate tent for males and females. Concentrated males can dump an incredible amount of pollen and then I'd hand fertilize the lower branches of the females to get some seeds. And smoke the excess pollen as well.

By using Colloidal Silver to make a femininized plant into a Hermie plant and collecting the pollen.

Colloidal Silver is easy to make by using 2 silver rods in distilled water and a battery.

You can also just make half of the femininized plant into a Hermie and it should make seeds.

Not sure it's going to work. But I have several femininized seeds to play with.

The plant won't be smokable tho. But the seeds will be ok.

This is from watching many YouTube videos and doing research on the internet.
