cloning

I tried jiffey pallets and clone dome a few times with no luck, heat of temps above 72F helped but the dome kept dampening off my cuttings. I was reading reviews of rapid root and many people including myself had bearded clones first try. It really does help noobs.

I tried cuttings in cup of water, no luck. But the rapid root worked great, but I kept temps above 72F. I put a plastic bag over say, 2 cuttings in one cup. Maybe find a way to prop up one if to do one.

I am saying this like I am an expirienced cloner haha once again it was my first success but it was so successful I already have confidence doing it again. I even ripped one out half way rooted and still succeeded. I poke two holes through bag when roots visible. Transplant and remove bag.

Hope this helps, I really struggled at first but this method worked and read how many people had same results. Wish I did this sooner after everything I tried.

Cloning is easy. Be as clean as possible. Wash everything and your hands before taking cuttings. Any dome and tray will do. I suggest rapid rooters or coco plugs (flora flex or similar). Rooting powder or gel is optional. It'll work either way
Stay clean and sterile. Dont over saturate the plugs and don't let them sit in water. Use a heat mat to raise temps to 76-80° mist them and the dome daily for 3 days then gradually open the vent on the top until day 5-6 then close the vents for a few more days. Voila. Roots.

Take more cuts then you need and keep the fastest rooting ones. You may end up with a lower than average success rate on your first attempts so more is better. You can toss the ones you dont need later.

I'm taking some cuts today. I can post a few pics along the way. I do mine in plugs, solo cups, and a sandwich bag for a dome. Easy peezy. 100% success rate. If I was in hydro, I'd probably go for an aerocloner or something like that.

whats up growers am gonna start cloning for the first time will this cloning box work or can some some recommend me a cloning kit
In my experience you don't need anything but a sharp pocket knife a rockwool cube and some distilled water.

I soak my cubes in the water, I usually take my cuts and drop them in a cup of water while I'm taking more cuts. Then submerge them real good in the cup and pull out one and stick it in a cube that has soaked for 10 or 15 minutes. I then place the cube on a upside down solo cup on the floor nice and far from the light canopy. I feed just water till I see the first root show then a half strength veg feed, then right to my veg feed schedule.

I no longer use domes or trays or special powders, gels, or nutrients to clone. At a complete 100% success rate.

As this thread proves there are many ways that work. Where I am, In the summer I can just put cuttings on windowsill and they will almost all root in a couple weeks. But once September hits it seems like they take forever and only half seem to root. The easiest way, and what I do if I wanna make sure a particular plant is clones, is root riots (or whatever) + hormone powder/gel + seedling tray on a heating mat. I like the seedling trays with the lights because it's nice and weak like clones want and then I don't have to lose any space in veg tent and can throw them in garage or wherever. Mist once a day for the first few days then open vents on day 7 or so and you'll usually see roots in 7-10 days.
