She might put him in jail over this, if it happened after he was indicted, witness tampering and obstruction of justice will do that. His lawyers have been suborning the perjury of witnesses and are trying to keep them from flipping for their own good. I see more lawyers going down in the future.

Clark argues Trump changed his job responsibilities to include 2020 election
Former Justice Department official Jeffrey Clark in new court filings sought to justify becoming involved with Georgia’s 2020 presidential election by arguing former President Trump had an “unqualified and illimitable right” to change his job responsibilities.
Clark, who is charged in Georgia alongside Trump and 17 others over their efforts to overturn the 2020 election results, heads to court on Monday to convince a judge to move his state prosecution to federal court, which would enable him to attempt to assert immunity.

To move courts, Clark must show that the allegations against him were within the scope of his duties as a federal official, among other things.
Clark is charged with two counts over his desire to send a letter to Georgia authorities asking them to hold off on certifying their election results while the department investigated. He is accused of being part of a months-long conspiracy to unlawfully keep Trump in power. Clark pleaded not guilty.

Prosecutors have rejected the notion that the letter could have fallen within Clark’s job responsibilities. Clark at the time oversaw the Justice Department’s environmental division and, in an acting capacity, the civil division.
“The President has the unqualified and illimitable right to seek and obtain such advice from his senior legal advisors,” Clark’s attorneys pushed back in the new court filings.

They noted a meeting Clark had with Trump and other senior administration lawyers on Jan. 3, 2021, at which Trump initially desired sending the letter and appointing Clark as attorney general. He ultimately did not do so, however.
“This act by the President conclusively ratified that Mr. Clark’s responsibilities included the election-related issues discussed in the draft letter, and that all of his charged conduct was under color of law,” Clark’s attorneys said of the meeting.

Court filings show Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’s (D) office has subpoenaed Jody Hunt, who ran the Justice Department’s civil rights division earlier in the Trump administration, to testify at Monday’s hearing.
U.S. District Judge Steve Jones, who will preside, has already rejected a request from one of Clark’s co-defendants to move their charges to federal court.

Jones ruled that the allegations against Trump’s former White House chief of staff, Mark Meadows, were political activities outside the scope of his job responsibilities. Meadows is now appealing.

Three other co-defendants in the case are also trying to move their charges, and Jones will hold a hearing to consider their effort on Wednesday.
Trump has also suggested he, too, could soon follow in their footsteps.

Trump says it’s ‘very unlikely’ he’d pardon himself
Former President Trump says it is not likely he will pardon himself if he is convicted of a crime and elected president again.

“I could have pardoned myself. Do you know what? I was given an option to pardon myself. I could have pardoned myself when I left,” Trump said as part of an exclusive interview with NBC’s Kristen Welker, who will take over as the new moderator of “Meet the Press” this weekend.

“I was told by some people that these are sick lunatics that I’m dealing with,” Trump continued. “‘Give yourself a pardon, your life will be a lot easier.’ I said I would never give myself a pardon.”

Trump said repeatedly he has never had any interest in pardoning himself because he feels he is innocent of the crimes he has been accused of.

Welker pressed Trump, asking him “even if you were reelected in this moment?”

“Well, I think it’s very unlikely,” Trump replied. “What, what did I do wrong? I didn’t do anything wrong. You mean because I challenge an election, they want to put me in jail?”

The short exchange was published by NBC on Thursday evening, ahead of Sunday morning’s “Meet the Press” broadcast, which fill feature Welker’s full interview with Trump.

The former president has been indicted four times this year on charges related to his handling of classified documents, business dealings and efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election result.

The GOP front-runner for president in 2024, Trump has said the various criminal indictments he has been hit with are political and designed to keep him from reclaiming the White House.

"It is very unlikely they will convict Trump, so I will not need a pardon."

Judge asked to limit Trump public statements on Jan. 6 case; prosecutors cite witness intimidation
Special counsel Jack Smith on Friday asked a judge to limit the extent former President Trump can discuss his looming trial on charges related to his effort to block the transfer of power in the 2020 election, citing a history of targeting those who “present an obstacle” to him.

The order asks federal district court Judge Tanya Chutkan to restrict “certain prejudicial extrajudicial statements” from Trump about the 2020 election case, limiting his discussion about the testimony or credibility of witnesses as well as court personnel and jurors.

The government said the move was needed because Trump “has an established practice of issuing inflammatory public statements targeted at individuals or institutions that present an obstacle or challenge to him.”

“The defendant knows that when he publicly attacks individuals and institutions, he inspiresothers to perpetrate threats and harassment against his targets,” it said.

Prosecutors again pointed to a social media post from Trump last month in which he said, “If you come after me, I’m coming after you.”

“Since the indictment in this case, the defendant has spread disparaging and inflammatory public posts on Truth Social on a near-daily basis regarding the citizens of the District of Columbia, the Court, prosecutors, and prospective witnesses,” prosecutors wrote.

“Like his previous public disinformation campaign regarding the 2020 presidential election, the defendant’s recent extrajudicial statements are intended to undermine public confidence in an institution—the judicial system—and to undermine confidence in and intimidate individuals—the Court, the jury pool, witnesses, and prosecutors.”

what I do not get is why this hasn’t gone to detention pending trial.
He's hanging himself daily and fucking over the GOP by not allowing them to select a leader and prepare for the 24 elections, plus he's stealing all the small doner money. Those are the pluses of him running around loose...

If the SCOTUS doesn't disqualify him from the GOP primary, they will be screwed because they have to disqualify him from the general election. If they disqualify him in say 3 months for the GOP primary, what do you think Trump will do if he is out loose? Think he will meekly give up control of his only real asset in the fight to stay out of prison, think he will let the establishment GOP "snatch" the brass ring from him! Write Trump in and they are RINOs for going along with the SCOTUS! If he is out long enough, he will endorse a hundred Hershal's for the senate and house...

New York attorney general trial against Trump is in limbo
A New York state appellate court judge has put the civil fraud trial involving the New York attorney general’s office and former President Donald Trump on temporary hold, raising questions about whether the trial will begin next month as planned, according to three people familiar with the court ruling.
The appellate judge agreed to an emergency request by lawyers for Trump, his eldest sons, and the Trump Organization, who asked the appeals court to slow down the litigation until Judge Arthur Engoron, the lower court judge overseeing the case, rules on a key issue, the people with direct knowledge of the litigation said.

The appellate court judge ordered all briefs be submitted by September 25 – just one week before the $250 million fraud lawsuit is set to go to trial on October 2. The start of trial could potentially be delayed depending on when the appellate court rules. If the lower court issue is resolved sooner, and the appeals court agrees, the trial could start on time.

“We are confident in our case and will be ready for trial,” New York Attorney General Letitia James said in a statement.
In June, a New York state appellate panel ruled in favor of Trump that the statute of limitations on some of the transactions had run out if they were completed by a certain date and another date for the defendants had tolling agreements. The panel ordered Engoron to “determine, if necessary, the full range of defendants bound by the tolling agreement.” The appeals court dismissed Ivanka Trump from the lawsuit.

Engoron has not made that determination involving the statute of limitations.
Lawyers for Trump and James have each asked Engoron to rule in their favor in pretrial motions. James’ office asked the judge to find that Trump’s financial statements were false and misleading. Trump’s lawyers asked the judge to dismiss the case, relying in large part on the statute of limitations argument. Oral arguments on those motions are scheduled for September 22.

Trump’s attorneys asked Engoron to pause the trial until he rules on the statute of limitations. That request was denied, the people said, and Trump’s attorneys then asked the appeals court to step in and pause the case. After oral argument, which was not noticed to the public, the judge did not agree to pause the case, but did agree to put the trial on hold.

If Engoron rules on the statute of limitations at the September 22 hearing it could potentially resolve the issue before the appeals court.
