BEST Cheese Strain?

To the people who say "don't waste your time growing cheese in seed" are so wrong. I grew 1 seed of big buddha cheese out of a pack of 5 and it was the strongest, funkiest, stuff i have ever grown and i could not believe it.

I knew it was special when in veg it absolutely REEKED!! the strongest most distinct smell i have ever had from a plant in veg. It smelt super skunky, funky, powdery, savoury, and what is my ideal cannabis smell. Here is another strange thing that even happened, in veg when it was REEKING it legit was growing something that looked like trichomes on the fan leaves. In early flower it didn't have that same skunky smell like it did in veg, but instead a DANK AF candy, fruity, typical dank aroma. Compared to the dinachem (smelt like straight catpiss mid flower btw), and pineapple express i also grew, it had the dankest smell in flower.

Now at first i thought it didn't look like it was going to smell anything like cheese, but towards end of flower that skunky savoury smell returned except this time actually smelling like CHEESE! i could not believe it, it actually smelling and stinking like CHEESE! once dried it smelt super cheesy, gassy when squeezed, wet mop, funky, funky smell! the terps on the dried bud were also super greasy, and if you just slightly touched the bud the smell legit clung to your fingers. After growing this plant i am convinced if you were to cross it with something else funky, you could no doubt bring back the RKS. This plant impressed me so much i was going to make a whole thread talking about it. That said, i've only grown 1 seed, who knows if i will be as lucky to get one as good.

I don't think big buddah has the original cheese clone for many years now...
The cheese I grew back in 05 was a 5 pack from AMS generic seed shop, no breeder mentioned on the pack, just 5 seeds labeled cheese,
Got home, grew it, 3 made it, all were identical, cheese 1:1, flew back to AMS after I finished that grow, smoked the cheese there, fucking same, I felt proud ;)

Yeah i get you bro. I ran Ugorg#1 some years ago when it first came out. Made some 'Luton Mess' with the lady i found. A decent smoke, very moreish she was. I've got some of KG's original BX1 and Psychosis crosses iirc. Chemists old Cheese x Smile and his original Hottie x Smile. First up is going to be the rest of the Ugorg#1 and a pack of Pyschosister. Just looking for a nice Sk1 to cross my Luton mess back to. The Confidential cheese i found was still the best from what i found so far from seed but as i said i lost her..
Aye the psycho cut and the kgbeans bx2 and bx1 were good like cheese but bit different i reckon the psychosis is just another old skunk like cheese and livers but has its own twist of course and that luton mess u made sounds good too mate

Yep, the one i had that reeked and smelt like cheese also grew like a fat indica.

Did it have a good taste and high ?
Mine was lacking in that department...
There's a user on ICMAG called Crooked8 that did a 100 seed run from big buddah cheese, he found a special keeper that looks in his pics like the most killer cheese I ever saw
He says we need to look for the sativa leaning phenos in the cheese packs,
I can see what he means, the sativa leaning I had was frosty but no smell or taste, just a small high, nothing worth keeping
The thought that I need to run at least a 100 seeds from buddah is too much for me haha

Yep, mine tasted great and high was very indica, couchlock, party euphoric high. Couldn't fault anything about that plant. I love funky smelling strains, i love strong smelling strains, everything about it was perfect for me. It had what i consider the true cannabis taste. Was also the easiest and most resilient compared to other two i grew. The other crazy one was the dinachem, mid flower it strongly smelt of cat urine and nothing else. I reckon if you got some of that cat piss into the cheese i had it would be 80% rks atleast.

Did you do your run in the last year ?
Crooked8 did his 100 seed run in 2014-2015 so who knows what changed in big buddah since then.

I grew it in 2021, I still got the rest of seeds from that pack that had the stinker. Everytime i am thinking about trying other strains i am always left thinking "but that cheese was so good, i should just grow it again" I hope i get as lucky with one as good.

Thats cos the cheese isnt an indica its a old skunk1 pheno it doesnt have indica leaflets its hybrid ones the only odd trait is that it grows more out than up vs some but its definitely not an indica buddha crossed his to a afghani he called the kali it yielded good but took away a bit of the reek that plant itself tastes like lemon and hash so yes if u set on pheno hunting his work select against the big yielding ghani phenos id say theres better cheese lines to dig through tho imo these days

I reckon it will have changed milos dead and who knows whos running that company now

Ah that's cool, I have a GHS Cheese seed wheel from couple of years ago, had 5 fem beans, poped them, only 1 made it lol, probably bad storage over the years, but I was able to get 1 at least, he looks indica aswell, I'm gonna flower it in a week or so, time will tell ;)

I also believe based on what I see, the sativa leaning plants are a bit better in his line

The thing about Buddhas cheese is the fact he bred it to have less smell as it was getting people busted. Which obviously is not something we want when hunting for the best terps....
Cool story bro. I am one of the most fussiest people when it comes to terps and can't stand weak smelling shit. The 1 plant i had it of it smelt so fucking strong it would easily reek an entire house out just from 1 plant. Proof is in the pudding and i saw it for myself, so really don't care what anyone else says. Also, send me link to where it talks about how he bred it for low smell?

Found a transcript of an interview someone did with Milo. Nowhere do i see anything about how he "bred it for low smell" it only talks about it having an odour problem..

"Renzo: Is it better to grow Cheese indoors or can it also be grown outdoors?
Milo: It’s more better indoors. You can get a much better product indoors. But it can be grown outdoors as well. The problem with outdoors though is its high odour content. Indoors you already have trouble with it, but can fix it by using a carbon filter. But outdoors your neighbors are going to smell it. The smell goes wherever the wind blows so it’s a real outdoor nightmare."

I couldnt even finish it this drew guys a dick lol not a fan sorry he just annoys me anyway some of what he says is bullshit first off cheese was found in a packet of sensi skunk#1 in 1988 by brightside and his mate they grew it outdoors found the cheese kept it as a cut indoors it wasnt till the 90s any of the exodus collective even got there hands on it brightside is the guy who gave em cuts in the first place secondly big buddha wanted to cash in was nothing to do with making it less smelly he made seeds to sell em before that he worked in a take away shop used to be a video on youtube of a guy putting actual cheese buds under his nose at a weed show and milo was like what is that lol

also i saw your post on icmag shiskaboy and its just chinese whispers mate the exodus collective only had and gave out 1 cut of cheese freely i might add they did not have 2 different ones thats bs they did however make quite a few crosses with the cheese a cheese x nl called nelly a cheese x blueberry and some others they also gave them out so that confuses some people also theres a bx seedline thats now a clone only also that brightside made thats called back to the cheese thats also a clone that sometimes mistakenly gets passed around as the proper cheese cut to confuse the situation further mate hope i can help clear it up a bit for you and others

There is a bud going around the last 5 years that has some similarities to what you describe, it's called skywalker OG. It's not the cheese from way back but its very potent and one ounce will stink your entire house out...
I've had the cut multiple times, still floating about...

Whilst on this subject, does anybody know the best Skywalker OG seed? I do wonder if the name was just made up... does remind me a bit of blue cheese formation-wise

BTW, the Viet growers in UK had very good cheese cuts in 2007 - 2010... they shud of kept it going
I think everyone had it years ago many chucked it cos of the smell actually id say blue cheese was the preferred one with commercial folks in the end up as it yielded better there all on to stardawg or wedding cake stuff like that now mostly ime
