See Musk and MAGA crushed in dictator censorship scandal: Melber breakdown

496 views Jul 20, 2023 #msnbc #elonmusk #twitter
Twitter is now worth roughly half of what CEO Elon Musk paid for it. It comes as some conservatives sour on Musk, after new data reveals censorship on the social media platform has increased under Musk’s leadership. MSNBC’s Ari Melber breaks down Musk’s free speech hypocrisy.

So do about 900 others. It’s not as big of fuck up people want this to be. Can’t really exclusively trademark the letter X, anyone can start using it as long as it isn’t clearly an infringement on an established brand.

I expect some non-exiting settlement at most.

Obviously, Elon didn't think this through and has an X obsession apparently, he seems to be driven more by "feeling" than reason and by all accounts this is a marketing fiasco for a company already foundering and with potential serious competition coming from two different sources. He paid at least twice what Twitter was worth and proceeded to half its value by being an idiot and asshole on the platform and fucking up its management while reducing its ad revenue. It seems that Elon might have some progressive narcissistic pathology and when he got on twitter, his ego got the best of him. He damaged not just Twitter's brand but even Tesla and SpaceX too with his political far right stupidity and removing moderation from the platform.

The whole change to X, ditching the in hindsight brilliant “Twitter” and “tweet”, is imo a dumb move regardless. But the excitement over this potentional trademark infringement is largely media sensation and from people on social media who clearly know shit about trademarks or just want to get clicks/likes. As for not thinking it through, changing to X was the plan all along and it’s normal, fully expected, a given, that changing to something like X, the most popular letter for brands, will cause legal issues. Meta had to pay others to use Meta too. Microsoft paid for ‘xbox’ too. Etc. etc. As much as I agree with what an idiot Musk is, this just isn‘t such a big fuck up as today’s trending news suggests. Nobody thinks of Meta or Facebook when they see an X, MS nor Meta will be able to stop Musk from using X.com, at best they can get a settlement out if it that pales in comparison to the value of the domain name.

It’s not a matter of not thinking it through. When you bet billions per hand you play differently than someone playing with dimes.

I agree about the copyright stuff in general, but this was just another nail in twitter's coffin IMO and an unforced error due to a personal obsession with the symbol X, maybe it's his swastika. I don't think Elon was playing 3D chess, I don't think he is playing with a full deck.

Holding Zuck in contempt of congress over nothing will piss him off, especially if they are doing Elon's bidding, don't expect Garland to indict him for it. Look for a massive donation to the democrats, Zuck can buy and sell an election campaign with pocket change, besides the democrats are a good bet in 24. Rupert must also wonder about the precedent this will set when the democrats get back in power because they will want to investigate foxnews, but for good reason.

It turns out that the Skum scion previously known as X Æ A-12 had his name restyled as X Æ A-XII to conform with California state law, which requires names of record to be composed of alphabetical symbols — no numerals.

Skum has a fascination with X.
