If you are outside you are in the bugs territory. They will be on your plants. As for myself, I don't try to kill them, except grass hoppers and worms, but try to discourage them.I've used DE on the soil, dead bug brew last night , Neem a few nights before that, have sticky traps out .. they are still persistent..I'm not seeing any damage tho Do they do damage ?
Ok I need to try thatIf you are outside you are in the bugs territory. They will be on your plants. As for myself, I don't try to kill them, except grass hoppers and worms, but try to discourage them.
What I do is SPRAY the plants with DE, not dust them. 4 tablespoons of DE per gallon of water. Keep it agitated while spraying and don't breath it. If you get too much on it will accumulate on the leafs and sort of look like mildew. It's only powder and washes off with a light spray. DE has very sharp mirco edges and it cuts their feet and exoskeletons.
I have watched leaf hoppers land and leave without damaging the plants.
I would try to keep it out of the buds as much as possible. But get food grade. If you wash the plants the DE will rinse off. It only amounts to dust on the plant. Don't breath it. It does bad things to your lungs.Ok I need to try that
Are u sure the DE won't soak into the plant and stay there when it begins flowering?
I havnt seen any of them today its like that Dead Bug Brew takes 24 hours to kick in or something havnt seen one all day. Thanks for the info and pic tho I will keep an eye out and confirm it. Right now there's only a bunch of small bees landing on it ..1. Pest confirm and as a good sop/IPM for FG since a very easily acquired and issue in majority of gardens and can easily be gurateed not a threat if doing so.
have yellow cards for pest pressure awareness but also to keep adults down, if u see more than 10 on a card per week than u need to step ur sop to higher attack/step vs preventing it. key with FG like many pest is knowing the stage of the pest and know u can’t kill the larvave and adult with same product ( not safely )
so to kill and avoid as many larvae use nematodes/BTI / keeping medium as dry as u can but not “too dry/capping it” . for adults I recommend sticky yellow cards , having as much fans/airflow on ur medium = good for roots/bennies and for FG tool to deter the FG adult from being able to lay eggs so easily . and if infection high or FG always Fucking with ya I suggest getting rove beetles for indoors‘greenhouse and swirski predator mites if outdoors.
Look at adult and confirm , is it truly a FG or possible a root aphid, if Not most neglected part of IPM is getting pest confirm. Tbh more I did but I’d I found out many bugs were benficals and so Many look very similar and key to sucess is to know that exact species and bug Obviously.

I have went through many organic IPM/bug suppilers and evergreen is best one to deal with and also has good pricing ! If I don’t know the bug I def email them and I can’t say a time they couldn’t give me good advice and also def show me what species/bug it is. Thanks again evergreen
