I've had one driver go out in my led light fixture is a marshydro tsl2000 would any led driver work on this unit or does it have to be a like for like replacement ?

You can usually find a matching driver from meanwell or inventronics. Could you share a pic of the label with the driver specs?

Was just wondering if anyone has replaced a driver on a tsl2000, and if so where did you find one? I can’t seem to find a driver for this light.

Thanks they have a Uk link aswell 30 pound for a replacement so I shall be ordering two come the weekend ... seems like it's a common problem with them glad I'm only reveggin plants and growing seedlings and not in flower .... thanks

That will work but not a great driver match: org driver is 20-41V, and the xlg-h is 27-56V with efficiency dropping off at lower than 80% of 56V, or under 41V. But i still would ask OP for pics cause they sometimes change driver. OP, can you post pics or confirm that its the same driver as the thread quoted by moe?

I contacted the company I purchased it through and they have told me to fill out a form and they would replace but the strangest thing is I've gone to check the plants today and the right side is working again ...... I'm not sure whether it's cos I have a few electrical items plugged into one socket it draws too much power and shuts down one side .... so I might just buy a compatible driver and have it just incase it happens again in the future thanks tho for everyone's help

I have spare if it happens again and now I know it has a warranty on the parts if it happens again I will enact it and get replacement fingers crossed it don't ... how long did yours hold out before a full failure ?

I'm not sure, I think the load axis on the efficiency graph is power, not voltage?

BTW, I think an HLG-150H-42AB (or HLG-185H-42AB) would be good if the board is close to 42v. They have higher efficiency and 7 vs 5 year warranty.

From the lower pic: check the recommended performnce region: for 36V operation the max current (of efficient operation) is 6660mA which gives a 200w power. Over that current operation is less efficient and the driver still has 40w it could give.

hmmm... i think the xlg-150-H is fine, the correct graph for the xlg-150-H is -



so as long as each board of the tsl2000 is above 36v it will output the full 150watt with good effeciency.

looking at the mars boards/pcb's it looks like they have 24 parallel strings of 14 x white midpowers in series (not sure what exact diodes mars uses on these?) for 336 diodes per board.

midpowers are classed as 3v chips, newer diodes like the 301b/h ect range from 2.6v ran super soft (@min 10ma) to around 2.95v ran hard (@max 200ma), older lm281b range from 2.75v ran super soft (@min 15ma) to 3.2v ran hard (@max 160ma).

so 14 generic midpowers in series running hard is roughly 42v per board.
we know the moso driver has a max of 41v so they cant be running the diodes as hard at 3v each.
we also know that they are not running them super super soft either at like 2.75v at around 15ma because you would need many more than 336 diodes per board to get the ppfd they claim.

if we take a middle ground of around 2.9v per diode that gives us 40.6v, if we look at the performance region graph of the moso driver we see at around 40v we would have approx 3700ma per board or approx 110ma per diode.



those numbers dont look crazy...

i think the only real advantage of running a hlg-150-h42 over an xlg-150-H is around 1% efficiency at full power and the difference in warranty.
