We lost our 11 year old shepherd recently - we had no plans for another dog.
This little girl came to a rescue 5 minutes from our home. She has a strong resemblance to our Uschi dog. Zoe is very shy and gentle.
We have not heard her bark yet. She is afraid or has no experience with stairs.
We decided that we have more love to share-
Hopefully with some patience and kindness- she will heal soon.
60.4 lbs when we picked her up yesterday. She walks on a leash very well however is skiddish when someone approaches us.

In less than 24 hours she is flying up the stairs!
We had to lift her a few times and shepherds learn so quickly- she realized it is easier to walk up. She is eating and doing well for only 48 hours at our home. We are already getting kisses and tail wagging!

I have sadly been busier with work then I like to be but have managed to teach him a couple news things. He now knows middle. Which is where he goes around me and sits in between my legs. He knows bring it and can retrieve stuff. And knows the names of a couple toys now. Still a fucking jerk though.

I guess so. One second he will try to murder my hands with vicious play. And the next he is kissing me and telling me that he loves me and that this type of abuse is normal.

I have a huge soft spot for Dachshunds . My first dog was a black and tan mini named Katz , pronounced "Kaatz" it's Pennsylvania Dutch slang for "short" . She was a lovable little shit but she bit two people . Both of them complete assholes....

Dad wouldn't let us have a dog growing up. Once I had a full-time job I bought him a Dachshund - Patty Duke. He loved that dog. She was mischievous and full of life/joy. She'd always go along to the mailbox and wanted to carry some mail back to the house. Once, she somehow climbed onto the table and was busted slurping out of the gravy bowl - yep, little shit.

When she died I buried her. Dad said "I never imagined that a grown man would cry over a dog." His sorrow was quickly overcome with the affection of another Dachshund. For Dad's remaining years there was always a dog. The unconditional love dogs provide, make them man's best friend!
