TRUMP CONVICTED

Donald is going down and the timing is very interesting, he might have months to rip the GOP a part demanding loyalty for a lost cause. He could win the nomination or be the front runner and suddenly be incarcerated in NY or federally on other charges. Even the case before Cannon could be settled before the election. We have yet to hear anything about his document's crimes in NJ or of others involved in the documents and obstruction cases. There are plenty of more shoes to drop, it will be raining footwear until election day. He will be demanding that republicans tie themselves to the tracks for him with a freight train approaching at high speed.

I'm not too concerned about Cannon delaying things, there will be plenty of other indictments soon enough, perhaps even mail and wire fraud over the stop the steal grift. Maybe that's why Donald seems to be more concerned about the DC J6 charges than the docs, justice might be swifter in DC. Then there is NY where he is looking at serious time too and a December trial date. You have plenty of "insurance" with Donald since he committed so many crimes that are easy to prove. Someone will have him in a cage by election day, maybe even by the GOP convention.
It's very unusual for a federal case to go from indictment to verdict in one year. Two to three years is more common. So, although this case seems clear cut, with evidence that doesn't depend on interpretation -- after all, he was caught red handed with effing top secret documents in Mar a Lago after his lawyers signed an affidavit that everything had been turned over to NARA. This isn't a he said-she said case. Cold hard facts are front and center for the prosecution to present to the jury. And Yet. Trump's team will file motion after motion for continuance. They will drag the schedule out. I think they will manage to delay it past the date of the election. So, we just have to suck it up and wait a while longer. (insert childish impatience from the peanut gallery here)

Meanwhile, you can just sit an watch from your seat in NS. Our Democracy is at risk and will be for a while longer. What we in the US need to do is our part, which is ensure a good turnout in November 2024. It is beyond reason to me why it should be close, but I think the election will once again turn on a few thousand voters in a few key districts.

The J6 case is more complex, but there will be far more witnesses, then there is NY and Georgia. There are 477 days until the election, and I don't think Donald can dodge the bullets for that long. The NY trial date is to make sure all the motions are taken care of and Jack wanted a delayed trial date in December for the same reasons. The appeals courts have been dealing with Donald's various motions very quickly, overnight in some cases. Donald is due for several trials starting late this year or early next, spring and summer will see several trials I figure, it will all make the news though. It will be a Helluva millstone around the necks of the republicans until he is put away and will energize the democrats. Some think that when he is put away it will be over, but it will not be by a long shot, justice for many will continue on for years and the threat will remain for a while too.

Joe is playing it smart and doing a very good job, hopefully it will be enough to overcome the mass stupidity that enabled Trump. Hopefully the republican party will be divided by Trump, and he will walk his base out before the election. The establishment republican party will need to get rid of him by the convention or they will be fucked if he is the nominee heading into a legal shitstorm and perhaps incarcerated by election day! If they get rid of him whether he wins the nomination or not he will turn on them and it will be war inside the GOP a month or so before the election.

In any case it's way better than fiction, ya can't make this shit up for sure! As for being in NS, it wouldn't be far enough away if Trump ever became POTUS, we would definitely be on his shit list!

She might have to coordinate with Jack on tag teaming Donald! Looks like a one two punch coming up soon as the summer gets hotter for Donald.

BREAKING: The Guardian drops bombshell on Trump, reveals that Atlanta Fulton County prospector Fani Willis will hit him with a “sprawling racketeering indictment,” and “12 other people” will be charged as part of Trump’s “criminal enterprise.”

But it gets WAY worse for Trump…

Because these are state charges rather than federal charges, neither Trump nor any other Republican who wins the 2024 presidential election will be able to to pardon Trump — so if he is convicted, he will certainly face a mandatory sentence in prison that cannot be overturned.

The Guardian also reports that, “The racketeering statute in Georgia requires prosecutors to show the existence of an “enterprise” – and a pattern of racketeering activity that is predicated on at least two “qualifying” crimes — and that District Attorney Fani Willis will hit Trump with “a racketeering indictment predicated on statutes related to influencing witnesses and computer trespass.”

But that’s not all. The Guardian report continues, revealing that:

“The charge regarding influencing witnesses could include Trump’s conversations with Georgia’s secretary of state, Brad Raffensperger, in which he asked Raffensperger to “find” 11,780 votes, the people said – and thereby implicate Trump.

For the computer trespass charge, where prosecutors would have to show that defendants used a computer or network without authority to interfere with a program or data, that would include the breach of voting machines in Coffee county.

The breach of voting machines involved a group of Trump operatives – paid by the then Trump lawyer Sidney Powell – accessing the voting machines at the county’s election office and copying sensitive voting system data.

The copied data from the Dominion Voting System machines, which is used statewide in Georgia, was then uploaded to a password-protected site from where election deniers could download the materials as part of a misguided effort to prove the 2020 election had been rigged.”

The Guardian also reports that Trump will be charged “in the first two weeks of August.”

Tick tock, Trump!

regarding what you said that "Joe is playing it smart". Joe turned all authority over the matters of Trump's criminal investigations to Garland who turned most of the responsibility over to Jack. Yes that was smart on Biden's part but none of the decisions made regarding Trump's crimes were Biden's to make.

"I don't think Donald can dodge the bullets" until the election. Trump is not dodging, he's playing delay. IDK about the NY records fraud indictment and trial. Perhaps the clock will run out on him before the election. This also goes for the civil trial regarding Trump's defamation of E. Jean Carrol. Other than that, I think Trump WILL delay justice on all other cases until after the election. Normally, it takes two, maybe three years to prosecute cases like MAL, Jan 6 and the election fraud in Georgia.

As for my not being in NS, it sucks dealing with Republicans but I don't have to passively sit by and hope "those crazy Americans" get it right. I don't have much leverage but at least my vote counts. You be you and I'll be me. It's a good thing we are both satisfied with that situation. If the worst happens and fascists take power, I'll witness it all from my place on the streets as a protester.

I meant that in a general way and was not referring to Trump's prosecution, Biden is hands off there, I was referring to his management in general and his moderate stance on some issues while driving a progressive agenda.

The question is how much he can delay in other courts, his motions and appeals have all been dealt with very quickly lately, sometimes overnight by the higher courts. As for Trump getting in again, I believe many states will disqualify him for insurrection, even without a conviction in court, if he becomes the GOP nominee. That's why the GOP have to get rid of him before the election, even if he hasn't been convicted yet and even if he wins the nomination. There would likely be two dozen states who would disqualify Trump from the ballot over the 14th amendment and no court conviction is required either.

Is anybody in authority talking about disqualifying Trump from running in their state? Perhaps you are in denial? I admit I am disappointed that the MAL documents trial was set so late but I don't see how anybody can rightfully object to the court day that Cannon set. Maybe she'll hold that line but most legal analysts I've listened to, including the ones on Meidas network think she won't.

If one compares how long it normally takes to complete a federal trial, there is no room for complaint. Maybe a different judge would have acted differently. But Cannon is who we've got right now and if she's secretly cooperating with Trump to delay the trial, she has precedent on her side to cover her acquiescence. I'm not predicting anything, I'm just listening to people who know a bit more than you and I do who are pretty much telling us to expect the trial to take place later than May 24 and probably after the election is held.

One congressional candidate was disqualified last year over J6 I believe, and the 14th does not require a conviction. Nobody will talk about it unless Trump wins the GOP nomination, then you will see action in democratic states and even swing states with democratic secretaries of state. Trump can be legitimately disqualified over J6 even before a conviction using the 14th, people were convicted of an insurrection that he inspired.

Interesting.

I guess we will have to wait to see if Trump is disqualified even if he hasn't been so much as accused of insurrection in court. He might face that charge but there isn't one at this time. A lot of dominoes will have to fall that way before what you say can become realized.

I can't say how many states would disqualify him, but I'm sure some will, it probably won't come to that, he has to win the GOP nomination first while up to his ass in legal alligators. In addition to the current indictments there are several more in the offing, so Donald should be plenty busy making legal news during the primaries. If he tries to run as an independent, some states might disqualify him though, and they could have quiet republican support in some quarters.

The swing states he tried to steal with fake electors might be the first to disqualify Trump in 24, nobody would do it before he is nominated, but it could pull the rug out from under him if he does run as GOP nominee or an independent.

Judge Cannon slow-walks Trump's Florida trial while Georgia DA Fani Willis goes for the RICO

18,130 views Jul 21, 2023 #TeamJustice
It was a big news day on The Trump Trials front. Trump-appointed Judge Aileen Cannon pushed Trump's documents/obstruction of justice/espionage trial well down the road, setting a May 2024 trial date. Is this likely to be a firm trial date? That depends on whether Judge Cannon can preside fairly, impartially and independently in a case involving the very person who gave her her lifetime appointment to the federal bench.

In a second big development, the Guardian reported that Fulton County, Georgia, District Attorney Fani Willis is preparing to bring RICO (racketeer influenced and corrupt organizations) charges against Trump and company for their Georgia state election crimes. Who else might get caught up in the RICO dragnet? Rudy Giuliani? Jenna Ellis? Sidney Powell? What about Lindsey Graham?

I'm not against your idea but think it's not likely to happen. Trump should not even have a chance but not because of a legal issue. He shouldn't have a chance because GOP electors should reject the very idea and quash the possibility of his nomination. That said, reconstruction era Democrats were wise to put those clauses in the 14th. It will be interesting to see what happens. To me, Trump is obviously disqualified under the 14th.

The other people you mentioned, Couy Griffin and Derrick Evans have been convicted of crimes related to the Jan 6 insurrection. Griffin has already been barred from office, Griffin has not. Not yet. Trump has not even been charged. Until he's at least charged with insurrection, I'm dubious about the idea he will be barred from running for an elected office. And not even then, I think a conviction is necessary.

We will see, I just thought the CREW idea was interesting and a possibility, there are still 477 days before the election and lot of indictments, court dates and trials between now and then. Trump does appear to be dropping in the polls and Biden has a 9-point lead over him in a head-to-head according to the most recent poll. Trump still leads the GOP nomination by a long way and meatball Ron is a distant second and in trouble. Trump is most dangerous to the republicans if he walks his supporters out of the party or has them vote for his endorsed candidates. They are in a minority now and if they lose his lunatics and fanatics, they will be screwed in 24. Donald is not smart, stable or logical and he will be under a soul crushing amount of stress, lucky for him he has no soul to crush!

Trump likes to double down so he will soon have double the federal indictments. I wonder what the number will be by the end of the summer, how many separate criminal charges will Trump be facing by this fall? There are 37 criminal charges over the MAL documents and more might be forthcoming over that, now there will be some J6 indictments, but by no means all of them and possible mail and wire fraud charges. Next there are several criminal charges in NY and more possibly coming from there too, soon Georgia will be charging Trump for how many crimes? By fall Donald could be facing over 100 or 200 serious federal and state criminal charges, months before the GOP primary even begins!

However, Donald could be convicted and incarcerated by election day and on trial(s) during the primaries and still win the republican nomination, they are that fucking crazy and stupid. Trump plumbed new depths, so did his voters who are dumber than he is.
