I believe the RO may have helped as my tap water is 450ppm or over, but I also changed my light cycle to 18/6 instead of 24/0 and that seems to have helped as well. I noticed both plants I put outside cleared up pretty quickly, so I changed my indoor light cycle. That's some serious stalks! Wow, I've never got close to that. Very nice set up you have there. I am also running sip pots. I use 5 gallon buckets with coke cans in the bottom for my reservoir. I manually water mine, I find that watering them every 3rd day seems to work pretty well. How often are you watering yours? My thoughts are that if you keep them really moist they are almost hydroponic in the growth rate.I constructed the SIPs last June and they seem to work great. Today is the first time I've tried the float valve and the 3 gal bucket SIP. Pretty simple to build everything.
I used Black Swallow KIS mix in them last run. This time I'm trying out a living soil from Dark Earth Living Soil... see how it goes.
I do top dress. I just move the rice hulls to one side, top dress, then move rice hulls to the other side and top dress again.
when I filled them by hand I would try to top them up every third-ish day also.Very nice set up you have there. I am also running sip pots.
