First tent

This is my first tent. Below is my plan I would really like so one more experienced to look over it and provide me with any tips or suggestions.

Plan: 1. Using a flexible dryer hose go from the bottom (right) side of exterior tent to window to pull in fresh air with oscillating fans inside tent.
concern: Will I need an intake fan to pull the air in?

Exhaust is out through the top and out the wall to he left into the adjacent garage dryer duct with screen. Any tips suggestions corrections is greatly appreciated!

suggestions I have received: Clean-out entire room and just open window and place air purifiers in the room.

Standard dryer hose is only 4" so with your 6" exhaust you'll have the sides of the tent sucked in hard with the vacuum it will create. You want some negative pressure in the tent so odours don't escape but not so much the tent implodes.

Probably better to have the window open a bit and a bottom vent open or partially open on the tent. You should be able to adjust the amount of negative pressure by how open the vent is. Personally I'd cover the vents with finer filter cloth which will cause more restriction so may need two vents open. If the re are vents at the back I'd use those to keep light out depending on how dark the room is at night. Many like to have the grow lights out during the late daytime when it gets warmer and on during the night when it's cooler. Not an issue during veg but it is during flower unless you're growing autos.

A speed control as well as a temp/RH controller on your exhaust fan are good things to have. No need to have that sucker running full-bore 24/7 unless you like the noise.

Well you've got the tent now lol.
What size is the tent?
What light will you be using?
If you place the fan and filter outside the tent it'll give you more headroom.
Looks like it's in a garage? What's the temperature in there?

What light will you be using? It was a kit all together came with Vivosun VS1000 LEd

What's the temperature in there? showing 69° 63% Tent nothing on 74° 67% and it’s 8 pm here

Thank you so much for all of these tips. My only concern with leaving the window opened was the clutter of the room and the air being dirty. I thought having a 6” vent hose right to the window would be cleaner air, no? I apologize in advance if that’s a stupid question I do have a large Winix Air Purifier I can place in the room.

Whatever you do make sure any air entering the tent is well screened. Something even finer than window screen that's usually used to keep mosquitoes out as other nasties like fungus gnats can go right thru mosquito screens no problem. My grow room is down in my basement in one corner and I use HEPA filters to clean the air tho every time I open the door a moose could walk in so how much that helps is moot. Most of our house is covered in dust but it takes months before any dust buildup is visible in the grow room and even then it's very light. My room air gets drawn in from the basement and not from outside as it goes from up to 40C in the summer to almost -40C in the winter. That's 104F - 40 below F in case you don't do metric well. The basement is underground so never gets over 65F even in the hottest months so I have a fairly stable air temp to draw from.

I think you would be better off to add some filtering to a couple of the lower vents on the tent and leave the window open a bit unless it's going to get hot and you need to use some form of A/C. A window A/C unit would probably be best if your window will work with that then the filters on the vents will work the same with or without A/C. If you add filtering to a 6" intake hose that will restrict the airflow so it won't work any better than a 4" hose.

I have a little 2x4 tent in a spare bedroom on the main floor and I can't use it during the summer as it gets so stinking hot in there. Our windows open sideways so can't stick an A/C unit in there and we have no whole house A/C. In northern Alberta cold is more of a concern than the heat most of the time. Power to cool is very expensive but gas to heat is still pretty cheap.

I've been growing in my room since we bought the place 20 years ago so have things dialed in pretty well now. Heater on a thermostat and like I mentioned a temp/RH controller and speed controller on the exhaust fan so it only runs when it has too. I use HID lights as they can keep the room warm enough when they're on so the heater won't kick in like it would if I used LED a they don't throw enough heat for me. That's back-asswards to what most have to deal with. Really low humidity for 9 months of the year too but I don't humidify. I just water more often and feed at lower ppm levels to prevent burn and toxic salts buildup.
