Mainlining scrog

I have 12 plants in a 8x4 tent and just bought a scrog net. The net has will give me 50 places for branches to come through so 4 colas per plant. I'm wondering do you think I should mainline or top for 4 colas per plant.

Why have four colas per plant with you could double, triple or more with LST+topping anything that outgrows other branches, but you wouldn't even need to top if you scrog all that growth, and only lollipop the undergrowth that amounts to not much at all, focusing water nutrients etc to the stuff that receives light...is my way of pretty much doing what you do to an extent...and brings in very good yields, i now personally fill the scrog 100% then flip, it just looks so much better IMO but depending how much time you have and how much she stretches and how much light you have all comes into play... 12 plants should fill that space prertty quickly, what lights you using?

I'm new to scrog tbh, I've mainlined before. So you fill the net then flip. Would you chop everything under the net?. So when you flip it's just a couple of nodes above the net is it. I have Zeus pro 600w and migro array 8. Good lights always great results. I've just never completely filled the area which is a waste. I hate look at a gap and thinking a couple oz would fit in there.

I get the plastic netting from hydro shop, its super cheap and strong but with smaller squares, even tho bigger ones did work, dunno about 50 tho...prob not so well as stated, I'll remove some lower stuff before flip, and whatever doesn't make it to the top week 2 or 4 flower..doesn't matter when so much but i do it on the early side while the big stretch is ending, use a second net for support.

Personally my yield goes up quite afew ozzies or so this way.20230417_223550.jpg20230507_032540.jpg

Yea, that's a trellis net.
A scrog net is pulled tight and has no stretch to it.
It's placed 8" - 12" above the top of the pot and it trains the plant to grow horizontally under the net........can't be done with a stretch net.
Assuming you plan on doing a real scrog........yes you should remove the growth under the net.

Looks great but how the hell do you reach the back?

Nah I mean ho does he reach the back to fill the scrog
He's using trellis, not a scrog net. This is a typical scrog net in a square frame, I usually do two layers. I like bigger squares, I find it's easier to tuck and move them around. First one to tuck in veg and early flower and the second one to support the tops. Current: IMG_20230507_160402339_HDR.jpg

Why isn't mine a scrog :-o lol but yeah nah , it pretty much does the same thing !?...maybe my way is better?! Well...i dunno.. but it's a new tent I'm dealing with, will perfect it abit better as the grows come along..but well like i said but not in detail sorry, they are vegged in another room with just LST..and i actually had more plant than i needed...which help fill it up instantly, i did the back half first then front and then second net over the top..was abit of a headfuck lol but you gotta do what you gotta do huh...and i flipped it within a day so no tucking needed that's already done, and as you can see it's just colas growing upwards...with watering i was like how the hell am i going to do this:wall: Haha, first thought i went with was to buy some longer hose i got connected to my water tank and i got an extendable spray gun for like $20 at the hardware shop...which only takes me afew mins to water them all once a day as they have a res at the bottom of pot.

Cheers man !!! , yeah Net was almost 100% full when i flipped her, in the past I've always flipped and continued scrogging the stretch but honestly i don't know if that brings in better yields , i highly doubt it as logically a full net will bring more I'm more than sure..and also when flipped with a full net all I've seen is more colas growing upwards that are bigger and better...

But it's just an trial and error sort of thing till it's done....

Idk about other tents but Secret Jardin can be opened 3/4 all the way around to reach all sides.

In my first grow I used the same kind of net you're using, it worked allright(for a small tent at least). I used soft binder as you can see in the pic, which helped.

I didn't need a net when mainlining 4 plants to 8 colas in my 8X4X4. I did need plant benders though and I mix strains so the plants usually grow at different rates.
