Spy Balloon!

I reckon your guys are scanning and reverse-engineering any signals that may come from it... probably worth more than just shooting it to bits
"In a Pentagon statement a senior US defence official said that "while we took all necessary steps to protect against the PRC [China] surveillance balloon's collection of sensitive information, the surveillance balloon's overflight of US territory was of intelligence value to us.
"We were able to study and scrutinise the balloon and its equipment, which has been valuable," the official added."

Trump got along so well with HIS generals. lol

Trump wanted ‘loyal’ generals like Hitler’s — who often tried to kill him

Former president Donald Trump has proved time and again that he is no student of history, despite citing the past with the regularity of a thunderstorm on a summer afternoon.

Apparently, PW suffers from similar .lack of knowledge. As his most recent post demonstrates, a dog has a better understanding of recent events. I know, I know, this might come as a bit harsh to others but PW didn't know that "Trump's Pentagon" considered him an idiot and would mock him to his face. For example:

The latest example comes from the New Yorker, which has focused on Trump’s troubles with the military men in his administration whom he once referred to as “my generals.”

At one point, according to the book, he complained to his chief of staff, John F. Kelly, a retired Marine general, asking why he and others couldn’t be “totally loyal” to him, like the “German generals in World War II.”

“You do know that they tried to kill Hitler three times and almost pulled it off?” Kelly allegedly responded.
Trump be like:

And why wouldn't they consider Trump, and all his MAGA followers idiots? Just look at this thread. They don't even understand a simple risk assessment. And in their ignorance, disregard the analysis of experts who give completely rational and easy to understand advice. Easy to understand might be overselling it given how hard MAGA leadership find it to understand. So, I'll just stick with "rational advice".

Unlike Trump, who had to be talked down from nuking a hurricane, there have been no issues between Biden and the chain of command.

None.

Wow. A big helium balloon with some cheap solar panels hanging on a rope. Somehow it just magically appeared huh? Made it past US and Canadian airspace security, and was spotted by people in the sky before it was even on radar... Yeah, ok

Nice undercover pfizer "directed evolution" video coverup.. lol

If it was legit, and was actually spying or mapping things out, why would they let it keep going? You saying they are just keeping it secret to the general public, and they left it operational on purpose, maybe to hack in and intercept the signal or something? They must have already done so, to not just swoop it down right away, and already knew what it was.

My other guess is it came down for a landing, so someone could download the data real quick, somewhere near where it was first spotted. The job was already done..

That, or just a complete hoax, or some random persons balloon experiment..

I don't need to be insulting to get my point across. But the President is in control of the Generals. That's how it works, :bigjoint:

A good General knows how to do almost everything on a battlefield, but realizes that not only is he too busy to do that, he's too valuable to risk stupidly.
They take the advice of their officers, and delegate authority where necessary...
A personality trait of...Radical conservatives...Is narcissism. Narcissists have a very hard time accepting advice, they tend to consider themselves smarter than everyone else, so they might appear to be listening to advisors, but in their own minds, they're making their own plans, which have little to nothing to do with what their advisors are telling them.

For all the fools who thought Biden was doing nothing, a little behind the scenes info;

Inside Biden's decision to 'take care of' the Chinese spy balloon that triggered a diplomatic crisis

“Biden himself would be updated regularly over the course of the week, with his national security team providing updates on their conversations with Chinese counterparts and military officials presenting updated military options.”

Hopefully Biden and his national security team will remember to consult with padawanwarrior and his gang of intellectuals when the next crisis occurs.

You bet he took care of it. Not gonna be much of left of all those classified documents... or hunter's hard drives, especially after the sidewinder missile made contact.

They won't find much. Maybe a few shreds of balloon material. Haha
