Only 399 years? I think they started allowing females to forego the obligatory head lace covering in the 70s they're coming around.

Ohhhhhhhhhh admiting to earths rotation..? That is one can of worms and doesn't align with some dates.

The article is from 1992:lol:

They had to admit something; 1995 was calling from around the corner.
what was in 1995?

Isn't this free market that @Rob Roy keeps discussing? Time to barter, Roger..throw some goods in the back of your truck and drive around looking for the old lady who sells the eggs.
How timely! I was just polishing off some delicious quiche I made and getting ready to go feed the chickens. If you don't pay attention in the winter the eggs can freeze, crack and entice the hens to become cannibals. In a month or so it'll be time to get out the incubater and "make" some baby chicks. People will want chicks this spring, especially after the chickens come home to roost regarding the Fed Dollar losing it's status as the world reserve.

The smaller the number of competition the easier it is to collude, formally or informally, say most of America is severed by two or three major grocery chains and a couple of wholesalers.
That makes sense, which is why we should have competing courts to ensure justice as a service is protected.

Forcible monopolies are different than a monopoly or near monopoly which arises because the customer service is so good it's hard for others to match it. Sometimes you come close to getting the idea that consumer choice and market competition is not only the most efficient and innovative, it's also the most ethical.

No. You need a confluence of uncommon conditions. You have to be in the right place at the right time, after a launch at the right time. It all came together for those folks then there at the edge of night.
Coolest launch-type thing I saw was a twilight launch of a Falcon. The second stage was in full sun, so in strong binos I could track the dot of the firing engine surrounded by a large, faintly luminous parabola (very cometlike) of the reaction mass.

I can’t find a good photo. The lower portion of this is kinda sorta.

Proper markets would solve the issue, but that is not happening, where is the competition? Actually enforcing antitrust laws would solve it, so would marketing boards for milk and eggs like other countries use. Too few big players on the retail and production end obviously, if they can mostly artificially inflate the price of eggs by that much.

It's one of those problems a functioning government can solve, but difficult to do when the industry lobbyist drop a dump truck load of cash in a politician's fucking driveway at night. One party favors this kind of bullshit and created it in large part, the republicans and they've been doing it for decades, while blowing the dog whistle and fighting culture wars to seduce the suckers and morons of America. Just look at what the republican house is trying to pass or I should say propose, a 30% sales tax, feel like fucking yourself?
The way to solve the "egg crisis" is to go local and decentralized. Buy from the person down the road or raise your own. No government needed or wanted. Chickens don't give a cluck about antitrust laws.

Rob you need to get a job as a reenactor at one of those pioneer villages, where people lived like in 1785, and then you can live your prefered lifestyle while getting paid for it. Don't rant at the visitors though, if ya wanna keep the job!

There is a reason people don't do this shit Rob (aside from the smell of chicken shit) and this is among them, roosters are worse than turkeys.

Oh grow up! It got loose from it's truck and is trying to find her home which is why it's following and trying to get in a house..lady is complaining and the turkey is just standing there..it wants to go home.

Perhaps if they weren't so selfish about they're being 'put out' in their fine looking trailer mc mansions..?

They also act like they've never heard of animal control..Coon Rapids they probably don't have one.

I couldn't even finish the vid..the amount of whine? got me sick:spew:

I almost hit a wild turkey on my '77 RD400

I'd have got him in my '80 Fiesta
just coincidentally, a big turkey buzzard took off out of the middle of the road when i came around a corner earlier today, first one i'd seen in quite a while, and he had to be waist high. no idea why he was in the road, didn't see any thing dead.

A little diplomacy seems like an easy solution to the problem. Why not invite the bird in for dinner……with all the fixins.

Someone in the neighborhood is feeding her and she gives character to the place, just a bit of management is required. Wild animals should not be slain on sight, but accommodated when we can and not seen as varmints so readily. We can afford to respect them a bit more.
