Is 67/68 degrees too cold?

I’m well aware of the ideal temp conditions, but my tent which is in my basement, in New York (winter) is steadily about 67 to 69 degrees. I have a small space heater, and am able to get it into the 80s in about 10 mins, but it just goes right back down to the high 60s once I turn it off within 45 mins or so. It’s way too expensive to run constantly or on a thermostat, so I ask you, is 67 too cold?

I have 1 early skunk, 1 master kush both doing great, but my two diesel plants are way behind. I’m hoping it’s just a slower grower, but things are seeminglyslow right now. Thoughts? Everything is relatively healthy, just really small and slow.

First grow in a while, so don’t have too much to compare to. I grew from seed planted on Dec 5 and the diesels are only at the 4th node. Does this sound right?

thanks in advance for any insight.

Sounds about right to me. I planted in the 1st of Jan and I just topped at third node last week. Similar basement conditions except I do run hps in the tent and temps there are @ 75. I passively vent during the winter as oppposed to fans to achieve that temp for veg

add more light instead of a heater and run 24/0 for veg.

Yes that is too low. You will have slow growth and potential nutrient uptake issues. Do you run your lights at night? Do you have any insulation or air gap between the plants and the basement floor?
67 day or night. 18/6 lights out at 1am. Tent is pretty tight. Small little air gaps where the zippers meet etc. I have grow bags on those plastic drip risers that are 2” high maybe? Obviously it leaks. But do people really run an electric heater on a thermostat constantly? That seems really expensive…

Love this idea… and thought about it. But when I hooked up my 320W blurple leds (gifted… I know it’s old news) they don’t put off any heat. When I plugged it in, the tent didn’t rise a degree. It just stays 67/69

I'd have your off time be from like 10 am-4pm something like that.
How big is your tent? That burple isn't helping unfortunately.

4x4. Aware I’m light on wattage… but was a setup given to me for free.
I don't mean to be the barer of bad news, but if the light actually draws 320 watts, you're at 20 watts/sqft, that's not going to do you a while lot of good during flower unfortunately. There is a good chance it draws even less than that. There is a DIY led section, you could check that out, but what I'd do is get the appropriately sized HID and run that. It'll help temps and give you more light.

Maybe I can try turning the fan off for long periods of time… to get a few degree rise… thoughts?
