For those that have come to this thread - I hope you and yours had a great Christmas and Santa brought you some good canna-gifts. As mentioned in an earlier post, today is Lollipop Day! The schedule is:

You know ... the nice thing about a lunch with your cool aunt is that you get to hear all the REAL family stories. According to my mom, she was the innocent Lorraine McFly before Marty went back to 1955. But according to my aunt, my mom was actually Lorraine when she was trying to FUCK Marty!

I typically leave the lower dead leaves till lollipop - but I noticed that there were quite a few more brown leaves way down below this time. And I also noticed that the top fans were not quite the right shade of green. I gather others who checked this thread thought the same thing?.
Something was not right with these girls in flower - and I found out why.
It turns out that Mrs. Starecase had a couple of friends over ~one week before Xmas while I was out with my old ball team lads. One of her friends likes to look at my plants - and so she did. But while looking through the tent window, she played around with the speed control of extraction fan and ....
I think you can you guess where this is headed.
I have set the extraction fan to the correct level. The girls received their feed today so I will let them go overnight and take pictures of the girls above the nets tomorrow. The correct air exchange rate should perk the tops back up. Hopefully a little over 1 week with the airflow set too high didn't mess 'em up too much.

The kinder have not been tended to in a few days because daily shortbread, turkey and Timbits put me into a food coma. It was a little tough to get off the couch some nights. And judging by the size of these girls today, we can't call them the kids anymore.
I should have topped and cleaned up these ladies days ago cause they are well past large enough to start spreading.

Both girls all cleaned up and ready for a few weeks of lateral growth:
The lights have been turned full and are currently 25" above the canopy. In less than 24 hours, the plants will respond like they normally do after the clean-up. Then I can further adjust the light intensity.

The VEGGING ladies are coming along - the lateral spread is progressing nicely:
As mentioned in my previous Memo To Me, they will be spread out a bit more than their predecessors before the nets go up. I believe that should help to fill in more squares than their flowering moms. These two pretties should be ready for some weaving in ~ 2 weeks.

Brunch was yum. Day 42 / Week #6 ends tonight and hopefully I am not imagining the ladies putting on some beef.
I have repeatedly read and encouraged RIU recommendation #1 - take plant pics without grow lights on! And what do I do? D'OH! Today I am taking said recommendation.
The tops of both are getting bulbous, the branches are stacking nicely and the bud is getting speckled with frost. Both still have predominately white hairs with a few brownish ones popping up. I am estimating ~ 5 more weeks till I chop the Diesel and ~ 3 more weeks till I harvest the Cheese.

Thank you. A rigid wood or PVC framed net works well for spreading them wide. And even with the solid frames and taut mesh, you can still see some of the twine being pulled in different directions as the laterally spread branches grew thicker. I have seen pictures of plants that have turned those thin nylon nets into something reminiscent of silly string as they hardened.
Above the dirt itself? Not really sure of that. The net frames are between 4" and 6" above the tops of the buckets. That space gives me ample room to water and get my hands in there when doing plant maintenance. I believe that the tops themselves are about 16" to 20" above the tops of the buckets. Flower stretch determines that more than my intent.
They are in lights-off right now so when they come back on in about 30 minutes I can see how tall they ended up from the buckets.
Good stuff. Absolutely - spread them wide and fill your tent with tops!

Just took a quick measure as the lights have come back on. The tallest tops on the left side of the tent are 25" above the top of the buckets (19" above the netting) while the shorter tops and the majority of the tops on the right side are 23" above the buckets (17" above the netting).
