yeah man i'm the same way. i've got a bunch of containers full of ganja and if one harvest is lacking, the next one makes up for it.

Hey forgot to update. Got her all set up now. Trying some shit out we will see if it works or not

I was away for 5days in Vegas, so I left the lights on super low then switched to cmh when I got home. My fpog wasn't happy (bottom right) but she's picking up now. See some roots popping out the bottom so we're on the up and up

I really love my cmh. I've always been a hid guy,. Dabbling around with leds.. I mean they're great it's just really hard for me to get temps up with them. I hate running a heater.... I'd run less Amps with a hid than my LEDs and a heater.....
Nice warm temps you get big, fast root growth, cool it down a bit and its a diff ball game. I've always worked to remove heat... Not add it. So it's really foreign to me.

The only reason I use them with blumats is because that's what I used the first time I ran blumats and it worked so well that I see no reason to change. They do dry out faster so if I'm hand watering I like the plastic because the coco doesn't dry out as fast and require less watering.

I've never had any issues with fabric pots other than they do dry out faster than plastic.
Hey X, I remember you saying something about setting the dials a little diff with blumats/coco. Did you do anything different than the recommended '2 notch' down?? I have mine set on one notch down from the drip holding to see if it'll keep it a bit more wet or dry back less. Not sure if it'll work the way I think it will...? Wondering if you had any insight

Oh ya. Love my CMH. My favorite is LED with CMH. My closet still has 2 CMH above a couple of the LEDs, but I'd like to get an electrician out to get a dedicated circuit before I turn both on again. I'd just feel safer. It's LED CMH LED CMH LED. But I have a couple LED's in front of them so it's just all LED's now. It's the best of both worlds if you ask me.

I don't remember doing anything other than the recommended steps. I might have at one time but the last few times I used them I just set them up according to the directions.

Damn that auto flower must have had arm sized tops. Any pics of the whole plant?

Little bit of a def came through in the last couple weeks, I was pretty busy with getting things ready before my trip and neglected watering twice a day for a wee while and the ec climbed up a little high for a bit. I was also playing with the light intensity and height so there was a wee bit of taco in the top cola but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out for the most part

Totally agree. I really love the cmh/cob combo. It kills.
I do my own wiring, so I have dedicated circuits for every tent and hardwired timers that branch into a plug box

Ok Cool. I'm waiting till I get some good roots drinking before I can tell if it's working or not

I prefer black plastic, no light gets through for algae growth and they properly drain while retaining water vs evaporating into the air. "Smart Pots" aren't always smart depending on the setup & grow style.

Update
So I'm getting some really nice and fast growth. I took out the blumats and switched to a pump/sprinkler setup I had laying around on a repeat cycle timer set to turn on for 1min every 6hours which gives me a nice little bit of runoff. My question is. Do you run the watering cycle at night? Or just during the day? What are you guys doing?

Starting to use coco, doing a run in the 3x3 and I was wondering, what do you guys/gals prefer with coco? Fabric pots or plastic? I've used fabric pots with promix and didn't enjoy it. Pros/cons, experiences for both?
Currently using plastic pots with coco and I don't see any issues, but wondering if fabric would make a difference or not
I prefer fabric pots because the root zone requires oxygen. Those salt stains you see on the cloth is salt buildup that you would have had in your root zone that can hurt your plant.

Do yourself a favor and switch to organics. Why mix and measure your nutes and your runoff? Why would you want to force-feed your girls if they're classified as autotrophs that can feed themselves? It's just so unnecessary, especially when you move to organic growing. Research Coast of Maine Stonington Blend Grower's Mix and tell me that's not THE ABSOLUTE BEST SOIL for growing cannabis.

Lol. While I appreciate your eagerness, organics isn't the best way to grow weed. I have some organic runs that I do, some not. Some under LEDs some under cmh some under both. It all depends what I'm feeling like. The best way to grow is whatever way works best for the person growing it at the time they're growing it.

Many 'organic' nutrients contain way higher levels of heavy metals and toxins than salt based fertilizer, and advertise to people willing to pay for the words 'organic' on the label. While I'm all about sustainability and so on, I'm not about jumping on fads or telling people 'its organic'. The purpose of this thread was to discuss coco in plastic or fabric pots not organic vs salts.

There's a million diff blends of 'living soil'.
Coots, subcool, kis, etc etc. They're all basically the same thing with slightly different inputs.

What you're referring to as salt stains could just be Ca too. Those stains aren't specific to salt based nutrients.
