I'm not a fan of "fart-can" exhausts, but I should be allowed to put something more free-flowing. Even if I pass particulate smog test, a modified system will fail visual. TOTAL BULLSHIT, but, at the end of the day, I guess I do appreciate the cleaner air. . ..

Soil is lazy but still play with blends. Plants in coco or hempy tend to be bigger / more robust. Simpler to feed - GH Maxibloom / minor kelp amendments / done.
No screening bags of medium for pebbles and other shit.

It's the simplest auto feed you can imagine and costs peanut to make.
It works well in any size I've used 120x120mtr capillary trays with good results and very little maintenance.

Thats why I said traditional cus I don't follow those practices now but then the octopots were hydroponics. Its a self watering pot. U just fill when empty. The nutes are in the water which could last days. My point was I didn't have to mix nutes daily with those pots which for me was easier.

It’s hard to dial in coco without a RO skid and dosatrons. Coco is fantastic for small sized pots for quite large plants. Not to say the average homegrower can’t grow fantastic in coco, but you really gotta have it dialed in or you’ll quickly see problems.
as someone else said, soil is more forgiving for the lazy man or a semi off feed. If you fuck up feeding in coco, you’ll quickly see it….

Yes it'll overflow if that valve sticks but it's not needed it can be topped up manually.
The mk1 valves are built to last I'm still using some after 20+ years without any problems.

The only downside to it I've found is not being able to move the plants, after I've cut the the places in the lid/plastic the plants root to the spot.I have numerous times in other threads. That aside it's great there's only a reservoir to keep topped up and it's all done for you, I'll be swapping back to it in future.

I’m a coco lover , I think drain to waste is easiest for a new grower trying hydro . Hempy too ! Water/feed daily with a good runoff . Learn how to take ph readings and adjust to 5.8 and your golden . Just increase your nutes gradually . That’s what I find great about hydro / coco . You can always flush and hit the reset button . I find coco and DWC is fast and premium smoke . But for personal what we use to call lawyer bud outdoor organic hands down .Hello! So I've been tirelessly reading online for some time to discover if it's worth jumping to coco-perlite from soil, with liquid nutrients.
Every post I see practically says soil tastes better and yields only slightly less.
However I've spoken to a few commercial growers, I'm talking legal growers with factories and they all swear by their coco methods giving just as good weed as soil if not better.
Are the commercial growers simply chasing the yield/speed and the quality could be better in the soil? Or is it legit that the coco method can outperform soil with the best professional level of care? What say you!?

Looks good!! I just finished my first coco grow as well after all the years fussing with soil and dwc and well you name it. I don’t think I’ll ever leave the comfort of coco.
