Yesterday's Mass Shooting.

Please, just educate yourself. That's all I'm asking.

It is legal to own .50 cal rifle, not an automatic rifle of any kind and there are no .50cal automatic rifles or shoulders who could handle one. A Barret .50 cal is not what I'm talking about. A .50cal is the largest size you can own. So since I like to talk hypotheticals, say the government wanted to reduce that to .22 cal, just by changing the regulations, not law? Or let's say they did change the law, what then?

I could go buy a 50 cal machine gun. I would have to send the ATF a form 1 or 4 ( I forget), $200, a couple sets of fingerprints and a couple passport photos and then wait about a year.

Also, you originally mentioned 50 cals, which I've shown you can buy like any other firearm.

I have been factual
You have not, you've stated you can't just buy s 50 cal, even in Texas, you can. You've stated you can't own artillery pieces, you can. Youve stated you can't own machine guns, you can. And you've even stated you can't own 50 cal machine guns, but again you can and they aren't shoulder fired.

I'm sorry for any misunderstanding, .50 call is the maximum caliber by law, and one cannot legally own a fully automatic weapon without a federal permit. The point is the federal government has or could have the power to regulate caliber sizes down or ban semi-automatic weapons including pistols or at least apply the same restriction that apply to automatic weapons. If you like owning guns, then supporting sensible gun laws will help you keep them longer, because everywhere else where democracy works, has pretty much banned them or regulated them and their owners.

It's not a misunderstanding on my part, you've stated numerous times you can't own things you can. It's legal, there is just a process. Needing a permit doesn't mean you can't do something.

No, I've posted sources and discussed. I'm sorry it upsets you.
upset me? I wonder why you would say that. It speaks to your motive in advancing a troll argument.

Your persistent equating of a necessary condition with a sufficient one generates falsehood. You have some sort of personal investment in the falsehood that you are camouflaging with your appeals to emotion when corrected. Fogdog noticed that you are misusing minutiae.

Actually. I'd say the guns laws of a state are an indication of the state of its democracy, the more they have the better their democracy, since polling indicates a majority want sensible gun laws and policy should reflect the majority view, within reason and the constitution.

It means it they don't give you a permit because yer a fucking lunatic, you can't own a machinegun! Nor can you own anything over .50 cal legally and I suppose if you were making a movie or documentary, you might even get permission to fire a M777. As far as I know gun stores in America don't normally stock fully auto weapons of any caliber, they are a specialty item and regulated.

No argument there.

You obviously go to a class 3 dealer for these things. You typically can't own any gun if you're a luntatic, sadly our law enforcement has let us down numerous times in that department. The only extra steps are $200, finger prints, and passport photos, and a piece of paper you fill out.

As always, another day brings another mass shooting.

I don't know about anyone else but this isn't even news to me anymore. It's become just another daily event. And as callous as it might seem I just shrug and go on about my day and don't even think about it.

It's always the same. The same people going on and on about the 2nd Amendment, it's not the gun it's the person, blah, blah, blah. Laws don't prevent the criminals from having guns, blah blah blah. They're too ignorant to understand that it's not the criminals doing these mass shootings. It's almost always people that have no criminal record. I'm not worried about criminals I'm worried about mentally unstable white males. I'm not being racist, it's just the facts.

It's not a question of if but when. How many days? One day, two days, a week before the next shooting?

It's going to happen. Keep your eyes open when out in public especially at malls and larger stores. There are at least six families who's holidays were ruined last night. Let's hope we make it through today without another shooting of innocent people just going about their day to day lives. It really sucks when you hope for things like making it through the day without a mass shooting. :(

Stay safe and Happy Holidays.
There are more important things like a Bill to keep Daylight Savings Time, which I reject because the time that we're on now is our circadium rhythm time in which our bodies function best.

I'd be ok if they outlawed everything but .22 for a few reasons...
1. Cheap ammo
2. Lightweight, and easy to carry.
3. Way more accurate than a 9mm, or .45
4. Higher capacity mags
5. Can be fired inside of a building without blowing your eardrums out. (you ever fired a 9mm or .45 outside without hearing protection?) In a shooter situation, who's got time to stuff earplugs in? You may need your hearing for instructions or to give them.
6. I've had 2 friends killed by .22.... single shot fired in both situations. Went through the heart on both.
The Ruger SR22 is a fine weapon that will eat anything you feed it. I've never had a FTF, FTE, or Stovetop.

I haven’t seen cheap .22 in fifteen years.

I was not lulzing at you. It was directed at the rube who said it in the first place.

It's funny how our minds can see through mistakes like that to the point where we don't even recall the actual words, but the meaning intended by the author.

Kind of like the most recent troll, @Nope_49595933949 who chose to muddy up this thread with an irrelevant didactic and boring monologue about an irrelevant point of law regarding automatic weapons. People responded to his fakery but calling bullshit. Which it is, because the OP has nothing to do with automatic weapons. But the troll keeps on trolling. Not for me, though. ignore button will wash it away.
