Thanks! Came out well even tho I didn’t have any sesame oil. I really like the use of lemon zest in this recipe. Helps that lemon flavour really shine through!
I'm surprised how many people aren't aware that lemon, orange, lime etc..... zests give you the concentrated flavor from the oils vs the juice. I have a kaffir lime tree who is putting out her first years limes! I need to pull my 1 lime she made (I use for curry paste). Next year she'll bear more ;)

Have you tried Kadoya sesame oil? I highly recommend

shepherd's pie and a few pints of guiness?
Some advice, as we have also bought sides of beef for the last few years and had 100 pounds of ground beef to deal with…..

Google: “Moussaka” it’s a Greek dish usually made with lamb, but ground beef works fine.

Stuffed meatballs: roll your meat around a cheese cube and shape as a normal meatball. Works good for burgers too.

Use ground beef to make chili. Portion and freeze. Then make - “over the top chili” - make a meatloaf. Put it on grill or smoker rack, and cook - letting drippings flavor the chili.

Shape a bunch of mini meatloafs or meatballs, freeze on a sheet tray, wrap for quick future meals.

Make and freeze a few lasagnas, a few pounds of taco meat, some burgers for meal prepping.

Stuff peppers with taco meat - add cheese, hot sauce, diced bacon, cilantro, diced jalapeñoes, wrap in bacon, grill on low.

Mexican lasagna - layered taco meat, cheese, tortillas, salsa, - “taco stuff”.

Beef summer sausage, ground jerky, kebabs/kefta with ground meat spiced and formed onto a skewer and grilled. Great with pita, cucumber, tomato, and tzatziki sauce.

More ideas tend to come when I’m “not necessarily stoned, but beautiful” :-). Goodluck

we got 2 ins/outs in Co Springs now!!! 3x3 animal style xtra pickles. i hate their fries.
They started opening those up here in Oregon and I don't understand why people would wait in line for an hour or more at the grand opening to get a damn hamburger. I remember all the hype about Chick fil A as well. When I finally ate at one I was thoroughly disgusted. Soggy greasy fries and a flavorless chicken sandwich. I took a couple bites and then deposited the rest in the trash. My recollection of Wendy's chicken sandwiches were better. I'll skip the In and Out to avoid being disappointed.

I also remember when Krispy Kreme donuts showed up. Those are just nasty as well. I struggle to wrap my head around all the hype these places generate. I always find them to be underwhelming and in some cases completely disgusting.

Signed,

Proud Food Snob.

i do too. late nights at college and driving there and praying the "hot now' sign was ON. those things just melted in your mouth.
They melt because they're all sugar. Years ago a lady where I was working brought a couple boxes back from a trip to Seattle before they had opened any locations around here. I tried one and couldn't finish it. Way too sweet for me. But people like them. My tastes are no better just different.

Now I'm going to have to make some raised donuts and fry them up myself.

Sesame oil has to be pure. You have to look at the ingredients. Much of it is peanut oil with just a little sesame oil added.

A little goes a long way. It's a good natural pesticide as well.
