First time grow! What size pot should I use?

I'm using a 5 gallon pot should I move it to a bigger one? I have 10 gallon fabric pots that came with my grow tent. Should I use them?

How big is your tent and how long do you plan on vegging for? Also what style of growing do you plan on doing? Organic, salt nutes, salt nutes in hempy? All those will determine how big of a pot you need. Bigger is usually better but if your doing an auto flower you don't need 10 gallons.

I'm using a 36x36x72 so 3x3x6 and I plan on begging for 2 more week or so if need be I will do longer. I'm using pH perfect micro, grow and bloom. I've topped the plant and am training it a bit

If it was me, I'd stick with the 5 gallon pots for now. They will be plenty big enough for you to grow some big plants for a 3*3 tent. If you were in a bigger tent and doing organics I'd go with the bigger pots. I've gotten 12 ounces from plants in 5 gallons indoors so they can produce plenty. Focus on proper watering and develop a good root system and you'll be good.

Okay awesome! For my smaller plants should I just flip them over as soon as there ready at the same time as my big girl I gotta see if the small ones are male or not B4 it's to late. Also will my roots get over crowded in a 5 gal my plant is getting pretty big and I know it gets bigger during flower

Based on the information provided, your plants will not get big enough to overcrowd 5-gallon pots. 1 plant in a 5-gallon pot could easily fill a 3X3 all by itself.

This pic was taken 10 days ago of a 5-gallon pot in a 3x4 tent. The 2 poles you see are spaced 3 feet apart. That plant is now a lot bigger, 10 days later and she still has several weeks to go yet. Just saying.
Oh damn that's awesome okay. Thanks for letting me know, I didn't know 1 plant could take up pretty much a whole 3*3

What size pot should I put my other small plant in I'm also not 100% sure when I can switch my smaller one to flower at the same time as my big plant

I wouldn't worry about getting root bound to the point of it causing issues in a 5 gallon pot. I usually use 3-5 gallon pots and I'm in organic soil. Three gallons requires some root aerating with a bamboo skewers every so often as they get really root bound. Five gallons do just fine however.
What strains are you growing? When you flip they're going to probably double in height based on the genetics which means an 18" plant will double to 36", then you have to add in the height of the pot it's in 10"-13" and any risers you're using as well. Before you know it that little 18" plants canopy is at 46"- 49" and if you need 24" of space for your light then you're at 70" to the bottom of the light which doesn't work if the tent is 72". If you need less space for your brand of light just do the math and you can figure out the maximum height for your plants with the light all the way up. I wouldn't run more than 2-3 plants in a tent that sized if it was me. I like to have good airflow to help prevent mold and pests. Crowding it in too much reduces quality too in my experience.

Awesome thank you for that and I am growing blue dream. If it starts getting to tall should I just try to train them more

Oh yeah, blue dream likes to stretch a lot. It depends on what seed company or if you got the actual clone but it's going to double at least. Read up on super cropping and get ready for the stretch in the second week of flower. Don't be afraid to supercrop them even then if they're getting too tall. You don't want plants growing up into the lights.... trust me :bigjoint:
