Best (strongest) auto for Armoire grow?

Since the 80s I have grown a bunch of great strains. I always had a nice basement setup to experiment with, along with my backyard New England grows.
Now I’m in a much smaller Florida home and have an Armoire grow cab. I only grow a couple cycles per year because I don’t need much and it’s really hot in the spring and summer, so I take time off when it heats up down here.
The Armoire folks recommend auto seeds and the two grows I had last winter came out great, but just not the quality I’m used to. I suspect due to the auto flower nature of the genetics.
If possible, I’d love suggestions for an auto strain that kicks ass. I enjoy both sativa and indica and a hybrid is also fine. I’ve been out of the strain loop for a couple years, so I have no idea what’s out there now that would be worth my while.
TIA! Im getting excited for cooler weather and a couple of fun grows :)

If size is an issue I'd go with photoperiod. Autos IME are a crap shoot when it comes to veg time. Some people do well switching clones once rooted. Also I'd pass on autos until you've dialed in your grow space. Good luck

I would recommend Mephisto or Rocbud. Of those, Mephisto is way easier to get, since Roc's drops are irregular and not well publicized. Mulitverse carries some Roc stuff, but they don't last long, they're all out at the moment. Mephisto sells direct every Monday at 3pm ET, and what they have rotates through their catalogue (it's open until they run out, sometimes as long as an hour or so). They are also available through some resellers, I recommend NASC. I've had some good luck with Dutch Passion, but their strains tend to get big and take a long time to finish.

In a cab, I also recommend topping them so they bush out, it makes the canopy more even. I top them after the 4th node. I grow autos in a 2x4 tent that's similar in size to a cab, I tend to do the whole run in the bottom 1/2 or 2/3's of the space, they stay pretty compact if you top them.

Edit: for specific potent Meph strains, I recommend: Double Grape, Cosmic Queen, Forgotten Cookies, Alien v Triangle, and Sour Stomper.

Yea? It sure looks like fire…
Sour Stomper is one of their core strains, they liked it so much they used it as the basis of other crosses, like Forum Stomper and Double Grape. It appears that they are keeping their store open until they sell out, and it's still open (at least as I type this...) and you can get it directly from them. The benefit of that is that they tend to throw extra seeds in the pack, and any freebies you get will be their F1 crosses.

I definitely want to try Dutch passion in the near future.

I have always thought this exact thing, but are things different now? Are autos finally catching up with photo period varieties?
My wife is a long time stoner with a high tolerance, I used to grow photos, now I grow autos (from specific breeders), she says they are just as good. Bud density is usually less, but potency is about the same. When I look at dispensaries listings and compare stated THC levels for photos with auto breeder claimed THC levels, the best of the autos are in line with good grade photos (20-25%), but the best of the photos will continue up from there. There is more to a high than just THC though, and I'm not really sure how the other cannabinoids and terpenes compare.

I just like the flexibility of autos; I don't worry about light leaks or power outages, if one plant is running long and the others are done and I want to start another run, I can do it all in my one tent. Some people do perpetual grows in a single tent. They just work for me.

Side note -- I just found out that starting next week Mephisto's in-house store is going to be open Monday - Friday. I've been buying from them since they couldn't keep a site from repeatedly crashing during their infrequent drops, so it's been nice over the years seeing them get their shit together and evolve from great breeders to a great business. One of the strains they're selling this week is in my all time top three -- Forgotten Cookies. Great strain.

My autos usually get about 24 inches high and about 18 inches round if tipped at 3rd node. Some will be small others can be alot bigger . I've had 1 that.filled an entire 4x4 tent. But I'd choose Mephisto for dankness and potency. Urban legends seeds are another but I believe they will get way to big for your cabnet. I've seen those strains get over 500 grams per plant. Fastbuds are smaller autos. Bit hit and miss with fastbuds. Hope this helps. Here's a pic of what size my auto from urban legends seedbank. Gorilla autoIMG_20200830_1334352.jpg

Having grown autos and photos together perpetually for 20 years, I now grow 90% autos as I found autos becoming as good as most photos.
Yes, that means everything always on 12/12. NO where does it ever say autos require anything, only that they can handle it. Get parameters right and yeilds will follow.
Rocbud and his quality has just about took over my grows the past year or two.

Awesome info everyone. I have two auto grows under my belt, both in the new Armoire. Each yielded 3-4 ounces. One was a purple from the AutoFlower store (Green Goddess Armoire store) and the other was Banana Blaze. Both were good, but not great.
The idea of autos in the Armoire is you don’t have to guess when to flip to fill the space correctly. Run the lights for like 16 hours and do a lot of LST to keep and even canopy and to keep branches from reaching the light.

I grew for years starting in the 80s and always used regular seeds until fems got good. I always thought regular seeds were better, but in the end used mostly feminized seeds. Maybe this is the same situation with autos getting better. I could easily do photos in my space with just a little more work, but I’d like to give a really good auto a shot!
