What skunk type are you talking of though cos like catpiss phenos and cheese types can still be found but if your talking the kind like you can smell it 3 streets away kinda skunk then that shits hard to find probably wasnt even skunk#1 i bet it was afghani in origin or an afghan hybrid half the worlds hunting for it these days again it seems

Id say Mexi hybrid at very least i doubt any pure Mexicans are skunky without hybridization and pure mexican lines are very rare these days

Id say try some skunk special from female seeds then its from 80s stock those pissy phenos are still there only caveat i will say is its less sexually stable vs later skunks it yields plenty too its also known as skunk#2/redskunk

I just sprouted some 22 + year old untested seeds I made a lifetime ago, dutch passion orange bud x south african durban poison...I crossed it the first time and then grew a female and crossed it back to the orange bud male 75/25 Hope i find a orange leaning skunk

Sadly many strains these days in my experience are more sweet then what some strains in the past were, catpiss smelly or road kill...

Xmas bud, tuna can kush, shoreline, RKS, Sensi Seeds has like 4 strains that are skunk.
I got 3 Acapulco Gold out of 50 plus seeds (Assumed) they are Landrace, from a Mexican National in Acapulco, testing since I’m in agreement most of the skunk I was getting as a kid came from mexico since were next to the border.
This subject has been beaten worse then tiger woods. Tons of threads on the subject.

"Skunk" as we know it, got bred-out or left to die because it wasn't stealthy enough to grow illegally.
If ANYONE actually had real true skunk, the World would be abuzz about it and rappers would be writing lyrics about that person or cut or location. Until then, all we really have left is shit with a "skunky" undertone that you gotta kind of struggle to notice.

I smelt some real true skunk around my town the other day, I was super surprised, I looked around but I couldn't see anyone smoking it, it's almost a myth. It smelt super pungent like the old school skunk we all used to love and enjoy, if I smell it again I will try and find the guy who had it, I know the Rasta's around my area have always been smoking that super stinky cheese/skunk so maybe I could get a cutting off them and create some seeds if I try hard enough lol I remember having an 8th of it back in the early 2000's and it stunk the whole pub out and I wasn't even smoking it lol. The original white widow was really nice as well, that stuff used to give me really bad cotton mouth lol

Ask the pollenchuckers pretending to be breeders. Either they stopped selling them because they were homogeneous true breeding and stabilized and they want them for themselves hoping to produce the next million dollar seed or they screwed the pooch and its going to take years of genetic testing and back crossing to tease the now recessive characteristics out of the poorly bred hybridized shit being slung by The Attitude or Herbies or whomever is trying to cash in today. I bet more than 50% of the people in the cannabis industry today don't smoke weed, don't have an undying love of the plant, and just want to use legislation to ruin everybody by "regulating" them out of the business by using their Ill gotten gains to buy lobbyists to push for regulations. Around here they are known as profiteers and are persona non grata. I got straight up hermaphrodite seeds from The Cali Connection. Not "feminized" and they ruined an entire harvest. I noticed when seeds dropped out of flowering plants and germinated in the root balls. Grifters.
