Where did the skunk go?

Afghani isn't the RKS, it's possibly got some Afghani in it. I'm growing an Affie from 1990 and it has more of a gas/burnt rubber smell. Like Headband. There is a 'background' smell stinking up my place of skunk, but I also have an 89NL in the same closet that has a more fruity tropical smell, not sure which one has the skunk but I also suspect the actual RKS people claim to have once had are other strains entirely, but related. I have Mendo Madness, Devil, Fourway, Shoreline, Trinity, Holy Grail Kush, Sensi Star... the list goes on. I gathered up all info on said subject and purchased every strain that people on these forums swear is skunky in odor... so I'm slowing going through the process of checking them for that distinct smell.

I also think there are certainly bags of harvested/cured sour diesel, cheese, etc, perhaps many many strains that reek and can stink up an entire room through a bag with that smell. I constantly smell it in the city I live in and all these people aren't smoking the same stuff..

I think I read your post when you started collecting strains and I also took note.

Shoreline Genetics has a strain called Texas Roadkill..

below is a list comprising many, many years of random people posting online about skunky smelling strains, starting around 2004 and running up until recently:

Death Star
Devil
East Coast Sour Diesel
Euforia
Exodus Cheese
Fourway
Fucking Incredible
Garlic Bud
Holy Grail Kush
LSD
Mendocino Madness
Sensi Star
Shit
Shoreline
Skunk #1 (original)
Super Skunk (G-13 Labs)
Trinity

I worked it down to those 17 strains. I have most of them.... would encourage others to track them down and give them a try...

Exactly the list I seen. I've been gone for 10 years and yours was one of the first post I started tracking man! Good info. Would love to keep up with your post in the future, keep in touch!

Piss is ammonia
Gas doesn’t even smell like gas.
Only thing that really smells like it’s description are skunks and berry strains.

But I do notice ALOT of people are mixing that nasty skunk smell with gas.

Gassy/og smells are not skunk

That sucks for your location. Maybe try the black market? Usually good dealer don’t carry fruity strains. Step out your comfort zone. Go to the hood. You would as a kid. Why not now?
Sorry friend, I dont buy weed, I grow it and by experience many strains with old names are not what they were in the past...

Skunk was a cross of Afghani and South American sativa. I crossed a Maza I Sharif landrace with an African sativa and had one plant that was skunky as hell. Closest thing to what I remember from back in the day that I've had in decades.
Do you still have it?
