The dewey mister I use is aeroponics I guess.. Its these fucking certain strains that don't like to be clone and turn to shit.... How much stem do you put below the plug? I usually do maybe 1.5"

You don't need a setup to do it. I have like 6 different aero\fogponic\dwc cloners, and never use them anymore...

No need to scrape anything just cut the stem once at an angle using a sharp blade…like a razor. Why does this work? I have no idea but it does; seems to help make an entry point for roots to grow from. You can DIY a cloner too but at this price it’ll be hard to find all the materials cheaper than you can buy a pre-made unit.

That’s BS. Every strain will root. Even a tree; took cuttings from a Japanese maple that rooted right next to my sour diesels and blueberry headbands. You could root a fucking pencil in this thing…
You can have anywhere from 1” to 4” hanging down into the cloner. Will root as long as they get some water pressure. Droplets seem to make them root faster. Seems like very long stems take longer to push roots but they will…
So a razor blade works better than a very sharp pair of scissors?? I will use a razor blade next and try it, but my scissors are sharp and new.

start with healthy cuttings. The one that you keep showing looks like crap from the start..
And when you do get healthy clones, cut the leaf tips back.. this helps slow transperation which helps keep your cuttings from wilting

Ok but its somewhat strain related... I've done many other clones and I get a 90% roots

No but I know they are a type of aeroponic sprayer. Should work similar to CK style misters; go with those if that’s what you got.
They didn't look like crap when I took they. They get to that like a week later after I take them as a cutting.
What am I doing wrong then? Like i said 1 strain out of 5 rooted perfect in 9 days, perfect... The other 4 half lived and the living ones looked like shit most of them.
-I cut clones that are about 6 inches long from a healthy plant at 45 degree angle with very sharp scissors
-dip into a rooting gel
-put in dewey mister under a 40 watt veg bulb that is 4 feet away, also got a little indirect light from a T4
- Add clonex to the water so the ppm goes to about 325, out of tap the water is 160
- Dewey mister probably holds 1.5 gallons of water and besides the clonex I add about 3ml of uc roots. Sometimes ph down

If clones are important I’d run two ways. You can’t go wrong with a tray and dome . In the Dewey mister I wouldn’t add anything. When I did bubble clones I didn’t add anything but like you didn’t have consistent results.
I now use rockwool and a dome. Very consistent with the strains I have. Also it’s light can be moved and doesn’t use electricity.

Your rooting gel could be contaminated?
Never dip cuttings into your rooting gel container. Take out a small glob, just as much as you need, or use a new swab every time to apply it.

No bc some clones root fine... I get a jar of the rooting clone and take it out with a spoon and then put in a small bowl. I keep the gel refrigerated... Could the gel be too cold???? I doubt it.
