Ok thanks I may be chasing my tail for nothing plants are thriving I’m just always trying to improve things lol
You may very well be.

If you have the room the tent is in cooled you shouldn't be having a heat issue with the light turned down like you do.

This is how I have my filter, fan, and light setup. The 6" filter is in the top left corner behind the fan. I'm pushing air not pulling it.

I run 3 open passive intakes on the bottom of the tent that have filter material covering them to prevent dust, bugs, etc... from getting inside. The air coming from the bottom to the top creates a vortex and when you stand inside the tent with the door closed and the fan on you can feel the airflow. I only run the fan at around 30%. I run at night and the temps are fine until it gets towards the end of June and we start getting 90°F temps and it doesn't cool down at night. Then I shut down until the end of August and the nightime temps are cool enough. During the shutdown I grow plants outdoors. So it works out just fine for me.

Much appreciated I was thinking I need to add a intake fan the heat haven’t ran out of control I just figured I should try to get it lower I haven’t ran past 88 and most time I reach 88 is because I turned the air off lol and when that happens I just turn the air back on. I’m going try my portable ac and keep my room closed up today see how that works out. I had moved my things around since I last used my portable I had it in a tight space hopefully it works out fine.

@xtsho thats how it’s ran I’m going try some of that black ducting see if it helps any and try pushing the air
Don't you want the silencer on the other side of the fan? You want to silence the exhaust noise but you have it on the intake side of the fan. Plus you have 4 bends in that ducting. I'd ditch the silencer inside the tent and put it outside the tent.

Yes I did read that but then I googled up the company and found this that’s attached. I tried placing the muffler in both positions before attaching everything seemed to me it did the same thing both ends but I do believe if I want it quiet on my end I place before intake and if I want the exit wind noise quiet I place after but I really don’t know it’s been a while just getting back into the groove of it

Also I’m only using it because I like to be discreet and there’s people that walk past my window all the time and I don’t really go out talking to people to find out what they can hear or not lol I figure wind noise coming out vent is ok but loud wind noise inside make you wonder lol

I've never used a silencer but it seems like the exhaust coming out of the fan is louder than air being pulled into it. Seems to me that the noise is from the fan so silencing it as it exhausts would be what I do but Phat says differently. As I said, I've never used one but I don't see how it would quiet the exhaust if it was placed on the intake side. Plus the carbon filter acts somewhat as a silencer for incoming air on the intake side.

Got cha I’m going try that maybe that where my problem is muffler taking away from heat getting removed

You have too many bends in the system. Each 90° bend can add the equivalent of 15 ft of ducting. That's going to impact the airflow significantly.

Ok thanks I’ll work on all that. Inside the tent has been sitting at 86 now light at 100% with exhaust running and ac on I’ll work on my ducting plans, maybe ditch the muffler all together as I never seen anyone running them, and when I get the new ducting I’ll grab a intake fan as well

Now I’m debating and weighing the factors should I wait for a LED to not have to air cool a light and just worry about sucking out air from top only, or use a 600w. I’ve always was warned about trying to use 1000w but I always go testing the waters lol. Last time I used it I was in a much different setting with much more space all around and it was just me and one other. I’m now confined to splitting my bed room with my tent as I live with others until I can do some upgrading….. before my tent had a whole empty room to it’s self

I used hid lighting for years and I was always chasing my tail trying to deal with the heat. When I was finally convinced to switch to led it changed everything for me. It’s summer here and constantly above 100 degrees outside, but in my tent at night it’s hard to keep my temps above 80. I have my carbon filter on the ground outside my tent with the exhaust fan mounted to the top of it and run a duct straight up to one of the ports at the top of my tent.

As far as finding an led, if you are near a big city you can find great lights on Facebook marketplace or Offerup. I recently found a phantom photobio led for $400. If you want to try something cheaper just to test, that updayday thread has links to that light on Amazon. I think with coupons it was about$185 and would light a 4x4 sufficiently

Thanks I like the info I have eyeballed some on offer up but didn’t know what I was getting into didn’t want to take someone’s old style away when I should be going for newer kind but you guys is feeding me the knowledge I need lol. I sit YouTube and google things, read up all day I just need reassurance because I don’t stick to certain styles or trends but I do follow what is proven to work but that’s the bad thing I see what’s working for everyone and want to incorporate it into what I do but I’m learning it’s rules and reactions to everything in life I always like to believe there’s a way around everything but sometimes there is just not lol

You have the right attitude to get the most out of this forum demarko.

If you go on YouTube and look for migro youl find some great comparisons between many of the popular LED manufacturers.

If you go down that route you can always ask folks here in the LED section for advice.

Never rush into purchasing anything !!

Best of luck.

Thermally insulate the outside of the light, only the glass should not be covered, this improves the light efficiency and sucks most of the hot air out of the the hood before it can reach the room. Also make sure to use insulated ducting, or your ducts also act as heater elements in the room.

I did that and bam heat problems were pretty much gone so I threw in a intake fan now I’m good to go

Yes I will do that. I use to research them when they were first coming out I turned my head and now I don’t know where to start lol I’m definitely going to check out that information thanks
