So I’m wanting to add a couple more lights to my setup but my ac unit makes me tapped out in that room.
I was thinking of buying a titan 4 light controller and wiring a high amperage long wire to it and on the other end wire a 220v 3prong plug onto it so I can plug it into my dryer outlet but unplug it when lights are off to still use my outlet.
I would be running it in conduit along the ceiling more than likely.

is this safe to do? I feel more comfortable doing thisvs touching my panel.

Why not run 1-3 dedicated lines to your grow?

Hire a guy. It's beyond simple. Tap in. Run the wires through the attic or crawl space. Drill holes feed wires down wire them up mount them and power up

That’a much more money vs my idea. I would want to do it that way if I were here longer

I don’t want to mess with any wires on the outlet or breaker though so hoping to just plug the light controller into the dryer outlet so it can power the 4 lights that way

See what fuse or breaker the dryer circuit is on
It will probably be thirty amps which is plenty
220 v has three wires in residential
Two hot and a negative
It’s easily searched and doable
So if you wanted two 110v 15 amp circuit’s you could do that as well

i have the same box for my lights, it is indeed a 30 amp circuit so as long as the dryer circuit is the same i dont see a problem with this. just make sure the cord you do use for the flip box is sufficient for the amperage.

I would go with a 10-25 ft RV extension cord, and chop off the female plug end and wire it in.

NM, I think the plugs are different for RV stuff, so you would want an extension cord for a dryer then instead. They make them too if you need something longer. Might as well just go to the junkyard somewhere and pull a regular cord out of a broken dryer for free. There's a million broke down ones in the world to salvage from.
