Can you ‘re-root’ the main stem?

you need at least a single shoot axis meristem or it won't work. these sit at the nodes and also the tips of the new shoots.
That's not the case look at the picture there's no node and that's not unusual I've got plenty pics around the forum with stem rooted.

@HydroKid239 have you ever had problems rooting clones without nodes on the stem?

it's not that simple.

the meristem will still generate that growth but it's not coming directly out of it that's true, but still all the precursor cells of which ultimately the whole plant gets generated from always stems from the meristems which contains undifferentiated stemcells.

just try it and root a blank internode that doesn't contain a meristem it will not work, it can't.

on the other hand TC can establish a full plant out of a meristem, this is the central place that still has all the genetic information available and where hormones either grow roots, shoots or flowers from it.

I haven’t. As long as the stalk was healthy.. I’ve had cuts so small & beat up, but they conquered my high doubts & pulled thru. Took forever tho.

I've not found that to be the case, take a clone preferably with a node but not essential it'll root.

Here's another example of roots without a node in sight.

So she went all limp on Sunday but has bounced back today.

Also it’s interesting to note how she’s focusing on pulling phosphorus from the leaves to try and make new roots

Well 16 days have passed and no sign of roots. It’s alive and seems to be growing which is a positive I guess.

How long can it take to root?

It can take as much as 4/5 weeks but that's with less than ideal environment and its unusual, looking at it I'm sure you'll get roots it's too healthy not to.

What is the temps/humidity in your propagator?

Ah right Jesus, I was expecting 3 weeks tops.

It’s a Chinese tub with two bases with gaps at the edges lol. Sits around 80-90% and 25c constantly

It sounds right enough mate just a give them sprinkling of patience lol

Here's a example of the plants will to survive.

I cut tops from a plant 3 weeks into 12-12 i put them in a bin bag then 3 days later I retrieved them and put them in the fridge for 8 weeks then put them in my cloner and immediately bleach them tf with led :-(...

They still rooted, it's a very resilient plant.

No ways they are hardy eh lol Didn’t know you could refrigerate them!

Hopefully not long before roots are visible with mine

that medium looks way too dry, in a good environment healthy clones root usually within 1-2 weeks.
Aye that was before it’s misting so dry patches occurred on top. Didn’t want to drown the thing. I’ll spray a bit more.

Well most clones aren’t taken down by garden shears:lol:

Translated her as it seemed wrong to have the tap root showing in open air.

Will be using honey for often haha.

I read somewhere that in conjunction with cinnamon it works even better as honey is anti microbial/fungal and bacterial while as the cinnamon has rooting hormones present. Will try it next time

I'd forgotten about clones in my fridge until yesterday.
It might interest you.

So I’m aware with cuttings you take a developing branch and clone it.

Today my wife chopped up ‘by mistake’ a killer kush seedling I had growing in the garden.

It was a clean cut and now I’m trying to make it root. Got no rooting hormones or powder but have heard about using honey. I’ve used honey before to rescue the exact same situation but with a stickywilly plant. Time will tell with this.

So can you re root the main stem or only a cutting? How curious

It’s also topped itself
