I thought it was root aphids myself but someone just told me they could be soil mites and because the soil is too wetRoot aphids maybe? Hard to tell from those photos. Since you're right there look up root aphids online and make the determination.
I don't but I have some em5I've never run across them, but I've read they're vulnerable to sulfur. Do you have any micronized sulfur?
Thinking I should spray some of the em5 ? I was suppose already as a pest prevention but I figured I wouldn't have problems this early see I had these similar looking bugs last round...it's the same batch of soil but those bugs looked like they had a brown head these don'tlooks like soil mites. Usually if they are attacking a freshly sprouted seed, its not good because they are decomposers and it usually means your seed embryo is dead.
Your sprout actually looks like it is doing ok despite all the mites that were on the shell. I'd just leave it alone and let the soil dry out a little bit, once the sprout hardens off a little it will be fine.
The pics are hard to see. But they don't look like mites to me. A clearer pic might help. What u said about being decompompers they don't look interested in this one as much View attachment 5152707
I'll try to catch one and use a the jewelers loupe on it it's all I can do reallyThe pics are hard to see. But they don't look like mites to me. A clearer pic might help.
Yeah, they might just be attracted to whatever else was inside the seed shell. I think it will be ok at this point, no need to spray just yet, it’s still in a very delicate stage. What u said about being decompompers they don't look interested in this one as much View attachment 5152707
I'm a fan of toads. Don't know if they'd totally take care of the problem though.I'll try to catch one and use a the jewelers loupe on it it's all I can do really
I think I have some glass slides somewhere too
I forgot about that what if I brought in some predator insectsI'm a fan of toads. Don't know if they'd totally take care of the problem though.
