Prepare my carpeted bedroom/growspace?

My bedroom is carpeted. Is there anything i need to do to prepare it for my new 4x4ft grow tent? I.E. should i spray bug spray around room to terminate any microscopic pests that may be hiding?

Should I lay down plastic, or a tarp under the tent? Anything like that?

Myke said it all, mine cost a hundred, saved more first month. Shitty tent though, most tents have trays just soft. Have to sqeeze tray in. Buy light that covers tents footprint.

"Water resistant" . I wouldn't rely on it to not soak through .

Ok can anyone link me to a Tray that they know for sure fits in a 4x4 AC Infinity tent?

I'm finding this to be impossible.

Once you get the vocabulary down, searching is easier. Also knowing common brands like Botanicare help narrow down the search.
i.e. https://growershouse.com/botanicare-od-black-tray-4-x-4

Note the OD vs ID on measurements and compare to your tents actual dimensions.

Alternately, you could get a rubber pond liner (sheet of heavy duty rubber) and fashion something or get creative with totes/etc. What everyone is trying to hint at here is simply don't trust those tent liners to HOLD water of any real volume and not have pinhole leakage, etc. It's a trust issue - do you want to prevent an issue or deal with the problems should it happen. IMO cover your ass and spend the few extra $$ to give you the assurance you can contain any spills or leaks.

Ok so like that tray has a diagonal slope that sends water to a fitting? Will my plants sit up straight on that slope & this fitting... i have no drainage system, so does the fitting hole come plugged? Just curious, these things are confusing :p

Have to do your homework, maybe even call that vendor, but in my experience they have markings for where to drill the hole and are not drilled by default. I bought 2 trays long ago from Botanicare and that was the case back then. And even if they were drilled, you can get fittings to seal them up I believe. That's what I plan to do with the 1 I drilled to convert it back into a simple drip tray/containment.

The slight slope shouldn't really matter in any typical usage unless you're somehow super reliant on self-leveling of water across containers, etc. It would come down to your design and how you were using them. Worse case, use a level and put shims under it and make it perfectly level.

Ive been just using the reflective tray that came with mine for a while. Never thought you would need another tray. My plants sit off the floor on 3d printed trivets....and ive always let it drain right down into that tray. I have white carpet that it sits on....Never had a issue...Now im thinking I may need a tray....

Personally I’d try elevating it off the carpet somehow. A lattice from a nursery perhaps. Eliminate as much possibilities for mildew on the carpet. No plastic for the same reason. Sweats and turns to mildew.

Or if your doing pots you can just get individual trays for each pot. They are like 75 cents each at the hardware store. I use a shop vac to remove the water from the trays. Id also caution on your humidity in the room. With carpet you do have a chance if developing issues if you let it get out of control.
