I would just get some industrial carpet cleaner and go to town, paint walls white and let it rip from there. Carpet harbors lots of spores, bugs and other nightmares. I personally wouldn't grow in a room with carpet ever again.
I'm not sure the budget you're working with but have you considered seeing what it'd cost to have vinyl installed? I had a 120 sq/ft 10x12 bedroom done for $300 labor & materials from a Home Depot contractor, turned out good.. Now I can know 100% that my floor is bleach clean and not worry about the what if's.
Just call their contractors until you get the best price, bullshit them if you have to. lol I told the last guy someone quoted me $250 to get the $300 price. I'm sure shit is more expensive right now though as this was 3 years ago pre-covid.
