How long can you veg for in Rockwood slabs?I'm about to sell mine. I don't want to knock them, but they weren't ideal for how I wanted to use them. I actually went back to rockwool slabs for my current grow. From my experience, the root mass from rockwool in a covered tray is only outdone by a DWC setup.
As long as you want really. I had a healthy mother in a Unislab for around 3 years before flowering it.How long can you veg for in Rockwood slabs?

Yep. She was a Dinafem OG Kush. RIP Dinfem.Grodan Stonewool Gro-Slabs Uni-Slab 9.5 inch x 8 inch x 4 inch (case of 16) direct from Growers House
Case of 16 The Uni-Slab is specifically designed with one plant in mind, hence the name. This smaller size meets the challenge of mobility for re-arranging plants as needed. The slab has certain advantages over the big blocks; one, the top plastic protects completely from algae growth and two...growershouse.com
You had a 3 year old in this?
Naw full cycle 16-18 weeks to fill up a 4x4 trellisIt all comes down to watering. You can grow a huge plant out of a 4x4" cube if you can keep up with the feedings, which would require automation. I usually go three plants per slab, and with a slab that large plus the hugos you could get away with watering once a day.
You want to veg them for 16-18 weeks?
OK then 6×6 and slabs it is. I thought root needed more than that for that length of time but got itI can usually fill up a 4x4 scrog with 6 plants in about a month. I scrog them up until around 2 weeks into the stretch and let them go after that.
I've never grown in soil, but coco is a pain to prep and de-pot / root. I like how I can reuse it in my yard though. Rockwool's biggest con is getting rid of it. I usually dry them out, tear them apart in garbage bags and take them to the dump.Tired of all the coco and soil clean up
It can be a little tricky to get the hang of. I'm using dutch leach trays and 3x6x36' rockwool slabs that fit inside of the tray. I used to use larger slabs and 4x4 flood trays, but I was flooding them and it was a huge waste of water because the trays were so big.OK then 6×6 and slabs it is. I'll put 3 6x6 on the 48" slab with a dripper spike in each cubeIt can be a little tricky to get the hang of. I'm using dutch leach trays and 3x6x36' rockwool slabs that fit inside of the tray.
